Booklet overview … 🩷👇🏻
Train for Heaven is a faith-filled testimony and teaching manuscript adapted from the Faith Is Fitness podcast by Michelle Watkins.
After being saved on 31 October 2021, Michelle’s life began to change in unexpected and profound ways. What once brought purpose and identity—fitness, body image, and discipline—was gently but firmly brought into the light of Scripture. Through prayer, Bible study, and obedience, God revealed how even good things can quietly become idols, and how spiritual practices rooted outside of Christ can lead believers away from peace and truth.
Written with honesty, pastoral care, and biblical grounding, Train for Heaven explores:
The difference between caring for the body and worshipping it
Why fitness and identity must be surrendered to God
The spiritual origins of yoga and why it is incompatible with following Jesus
How discernment protects believers from spiritual compromise
What it truly means to live, move, and train with eternity in mind
This booklet is not written to condemn or frighten, but to inform, guide, and invite readers into deeper freedom and truth through Jesus Christ. It is suitable for personal study, church groups, discipleship, and anyone seeking clarity in a culture that often blends faith, fitness, and spirituality without discernment.
Rooted in Scripture, personal testimony, and love for truth, Train for Heaven calls readers to place God first, care for their bodies with wisdom, and live with their eyes fixed on heaven.
“For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”
