Understanding the difference between a heart attack and a cardiac arrest could help you take the right action when seconds matter.

🔴 Heart Attack
A heart attack happens when blood flow to the heart muscle is blocked.
The person is usually conscious, in pain, and still breathing.
👉 What to do:
• Call 999 immediately
• Reassure the individual until help arrives

🔵 Cardiac Arrest
A cardiac arrest is when the heart stops beating.
The person will be unconscious and not breathing or breathing abnormally.
👉 What to do:
• Call 999
• Start CPR right away
• Use a defibrillator if available

At Camper Calling 2024, one festival-goer collapsed.
Central Health & Safety Solutions medical team responded immediately, providing medical treatment before transporting him under blue lights to hospital. Whilst being transported he suffered a cardiac arrest and was restated by the crew en route.

This year, he returned to the festival to thank our crew personally — a powerful reminder of why rapid medical response at events truly matters.

🚗⚡ EV Car Fire Safety – UK Guidance

Electric vehicle (EV) fires require a different response to petrol or diesel vehicles.
If your EV is involved in a fire:

1️⃣ Get to safety immediately – move well away from the vehicle.
2️⃣ Call 999 – inform them it’s an electric vehicle.
3️⃣ Do NOT attempt to extinguish the fire yourself – EV battery fires can reignite hours or even days later.
4️⃣ Warn others to keep clear – toxic fumes and explosion risk.
5️⃣ Follow emergency services’ instructions at all times.

The British coastline is beautiful – but it can also be dangerous if you’re unprepared.

✅ Swim between the red and yellow flags – these areas are patrolled by lifeguards.
✅ Check the tide times before heading out.
✅ Beware of rip currents – if caught, don’t swim against them; swim parallel to the shore.
✅ Wear appropriate gear for watersports – wetsuit, buoyancy aid, or lifejacket.
✅ Keep children within arm’s reach at all times.
✅ Never mix alcohol and swimming – it impairs judgement and reaction time.

🚨 In an emergency, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
