We are delighted to welcome Sarah Clayton-Fish to the Life Rituals team. Sarah is a fully qualified kinesiologist, using systematic kinesiology techniques. Diplomate member of the Kinesiology Association.
Kinesiology is a relaxing, non-invasive complimentary holistic therapy which encourages a sense of well-being. As such it may be helpful to those seeking relief from a range of symptoms. Sarah will work with the client to explore the root cause of your problem and how to bring the body back into balance.
This may involve massaging specific points, providing suggestions such as nutritional supplements, relaxation techniques, lifestyle changes, flower essences, foods to remove or cut down and more.
The basic tool within kinesiology is the muscle response test; this is the ability to hold a muscle against light pressure. Initially, testing a series of muscles highlights which area to focus upon. A muscle will test either strong or weak based on the nervous system control of the muscle, responding in a similar way to a switch.
Kinesiology is based on the theory that manual muscle testing can provide information about imbalances and stresses in the body, be that;
Structural – Joints, muscles, ligaments
Emotional – Anxiety, stress, fears
Electrical – Meridian systems, low energy
Biochemical – Nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances
Retained Primitive and Primary Reflexes
Sarah is also trained in Integrating Retained Primitive and Primary Reflexes.
Primary or primitive reflexes are developed in the womb and just after birth, to give us coping mechanisms and appropriate response to stimuli. Due to some form of stress during pregnancy, birth or early infancy, we retain some primitive reflexes, which have an adverse impact on our ability to learn and interact with the world around us.
Here are just some of the signs of a retained primitive reflex; low tolerance to stress, feelings of overwhelm, compulsive traits, highly emotional, hypersensitive, hyper reactive, sensory overload, dislikes wearing shoes / socks, poor manual dexterity, lack of spatial awareness, fussy eater. There are more!
About Sarah
Sarah first found kinesiology after a friend recommended that she tried it for her back pain. Sarah said “I had been struggling with my back for many years and had tried lots of different things. I was taking the maximum dose of anti-inflammatory medication every day and was then having to take another drug to protect my stomach from the anti-inflammatories. I really wanted to find an alternative to the medication and thought I would give kinesiology a try as I had nothing to lose!
After my first session I was so blown away by how it worked and made me feel that I knew this was what I wanted to do. I was amazed to find out that a food intolerance was causing the inflammation in my body and some emotional issues that I hadn’t realised I was holding on to. It also helped me with my digestive problems. I always left my sessions feeling relaxed and calm with a clear head. After a few sessions I decided that I didn’t need to take the anti- inflammatory medication anymore.”
