Update - we are extremely pleased to say that the ICB has confirmed there is no intention to remove this service from St Luke's.

!! Urgent Announcement for Patients and Residents of Market Harborough !!

Please be advised that yesterday, we were made aware of the closure of the out of hours service at St Luke’s Treatment Centre. This service is currently run by DHU and provides GP and Nurse appointments Monday – Friday, 6:30pm – 8pm, and on Saturday 9am – 5pm.

We were completely blindsided by this decision, and we were not given any consultation or any further information. We immediately made Neil O’Brien, Phil Knowles, and Nick at Harborough FM aware who were all as shocked as we are. We will continue to do all we can to support our colleagues and campaign against the loss of this vital service from our town.

Please rest assured that the Minor Injuries Unit, run by the Medical Centre, will continue to remain open and available Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm and is open to people walking in with injuries less than 7 days old.

💛 Eating Disorder Awareness Week 💛

This week we’re raising awareness about eating disorders — serious mental health conditions that can affect anyone, at any age, regardless of gender, background, or body type.

Eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and ARFID are not a lifestyle choice — they are complex illnesses that deserve compassion, understanding and proper support.

You might notice:
▫️ Changes in eating habits
▫️ Avoiding meals or eating in secret
▫️ Sudden weight changes
▫️ Preoccupation with food, weight or exercise
▫️ Withdrawal from friends and family

Early support can make a big difference.

If you’re struggling — or you’re worried about someone else — please don’t suffer in silence. Our team is here to listen, support, and help you access the right care.

📞 Contact the surgery to book an appointment.
🤝 You are not alone.

💓 February is National Heart Month 💓

Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of illness in the UK, but many risk factors are preventable. Managing blood pressure and cholesterol, maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically active, and not smoking can significantly reduce risk.

If you’re concerned about your heart health or due for a check-up, please get in touch with the surgery. Our team is here to help 💙

💉 Protect Yourself with the HPV Vaccine 💙

The HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine helps protect against cancers caused by HPV, including cervical cancer, as well as some other cancers and ge***al warts.

The vaccine is routinely offered through school vaccination programmes to:
👉 Children aged 12–13 (Year 8)
👉 If you are under 25 and missed your HPV vaccine, you can still get vaccinated - please contact the surgery.

If you or your child has been invited for the HPV vaccine, we strongly encourage you to take up the offer. It’s a safe and effective way to protect health now and in the future.

If you’re unsure whether you or your child is eligible, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact our team — we’re happy to help.
