What's your secret weapon to reducing the likelihood of an unplanned Caesarean from an induced labour?

A Doula!!

A Doula is a professional birth partner - support both physically and emotionally. Help navigate and advocate through a sometimes turbulent maternity system.

A 2008 study (McGrath and Kennell) found in an induced labour the presence of a Doula reduced the likelihood of an unplanned Caesarean.

Induced labour without a Doula - 58.8% had an unplanned Caesarean.
Induced labour with a Doula - 12.5% had an unplanned Caesarean.

For labour to begin and progress we need oxytocin - the 💕 hormone. Responsible for the power of the contractions and progressing the labour.

Much like s*x. Oxytocin builds and at it's absolute power, you or**sm. Forcing muscles to contract and tighten.

So s*x and birth have some very similar traits. They need similar environments to be successful/enjoyable.

Now in birth we often feel we must be in a hospital, but what if we stayed at home. What if we didn't disrupt the hormonal flow by moving location? What if we had a home birth.

Moving locations when the labour is strong and powerful, is like getting up, dressed mid foreplay and driving to a different location to or**sm.
