As we move out of January and towards February, lots of our clients are starting to think about the year ahead. Forget resolutions and half-baked attempts to make big life changes in the first 31 days of the new year - sometimes we just need to hibernate for a bit longer!

But spring is just around the corner and now is a good time to dust yourself off and start thinking about what you might like to achieve over the next few months. Imagine where you could be by summer 2023 if you got started today?

If that feels completely daunting and overwhelming - we hear you! Get in touch with us to discuss the powerful benefits of coaching.

Brew Monday - organised by the Samaritans, Brew Monday is a reminder to reach out and catch up if you need a chat. January can be tough for all of us but there are brighter days ahead. Feeling blue? Talk to someone. Know of someone who is struggling with the winter months? Stick the kettle on and give them a call. We'll all get through it together.

Today is the shortest day of the year. Whilst that means we’re a step closer to Spring (thankfully!), it also means that many people will be feeling the effects of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

If this applies to you, remember:

- Better days will come
- Spring is around the corner
- Get outside into the daylight hours that you can
- Don’t suffer in silence

If you are really struggling, talk to your GP or get in touch to arrange an assessment.

Loss and grief are central themes of the therapeutic process. Bereavement will affect every one of us at some point in our lives.

If you are struggling with loss - be it a bereavement, redundancy, relationship breakdown or traumatic life event - reach out to someone and talk. Share your story and how you are feeling. And if you need us, we are here. Get in touch.

We love the work we do at Makepeace House and look forward to many more years of offering support to those who seek it.

This week is International Stress Awareness Week.

Stress is inevitable, we are all going to experience it at times. Whilst we cannot choose what stressors will arrive in our lives, we can choose how we react to them. Our thoughts, reactions and words are what we can control. As for the rest, we just have to breathe and remind ourselves that nothing is permanent.
