With her hair brushed, jewellery on, and a spritz of her favourite perfume, TC was ready for her day out.

TC attended her art class this week, where the focus was on drawing a male portrait - an activity she really enjoyed. She looks forward to these sessions and takes great pride in expressing her creativity.

Next week’s class will showcase everyone’s work, and TC is excited to reflect on how far her skills have developed. After class, we enjoyed a relaxing lunch at Fosse Park, combining personal growth with meaningful social connection.

Our client S spent over three weeks in hospital recently.

Although additional in-hospital support was not funded by social services, the company made the decision to step in and support S directly. This had a clear and positive impact on her comfort and wellbeing during a very difficult period.

Important personal needs had been overlooked. S takes great pride in her hair, which had become matted and tangled. We sorted that. We attended to her bedding and sleeping arrangements, made sure she was comfortable, and spent time with her throughout the day, keeping her company until she was able to rest.

When S returned home, we chose to dedicate our monthly random act of kindness to her. At the company’s expense, we purchased a specialist cooling pillow from a specialist provider to help improve her comfort and sleep.

Care does not stop because funding lines end. Sometimes, doing the right thing matters more.

We provide a mobility car that is free for all our clients to use. There is no charge.

This is particularly helpful for clients who are in and out of hospital and don’t usually travel by vehicle, for families caring for loved ones at home who may not have a suitable car when respite is needed, and for emergencies when someone is just starting care.

It gives families reassurance and removes one more practical barrier at difficult moments.

And a quick update: the mobility car is booked in for a full service and valet at the beginning of February, so it will be fresh, safe, and ready to go for the year ahead.

On visiting our new client, K, this morning, we received genuinely positive feedback from both K and his son.

They spoke highly of the team supporting him, describing them as caring, attentive, and willing to go beyond the basics. Importantly, they said this felt very different from K’s previous provider, where care felt like working through a checklist rather than truly supporting the person.

They valued that our team take the time to support K properly in his day-to-day life and around his home, and that he feels genuinely well looked after.

This is exactly the standard of care we expect from our team.
