This is one of the most common things I hear, especially as we move into the warmer months, and honestly, it’s not entirely true.
You absolutely can have Chemical Peels in summer, but it isn’t as simple as a yes or no answer.
It really depends on the type of peel being used, your skin, and your lifestyle.
Not all peels are strong or aggressive. Some are specifically designed to be gentle, with little to no downtime, and can be used safely during sunnier months when done correctly.
The key is choosing the right peel and applying it in a controlled, professional way.
Where things can go wrong is when treatments are done too aggressively or too close to sun exposure without proper guidance. Your skin is more sensitive after a peel, so protecting it properly is essential.
That means consistent SPF, avoiding excessive sun exposure, and following the right aftercare.
In many cases, lighter, medical-grade peels can actually be a great option before summer. They can help to brighten the skin, improve texture, and give you a fresher, more even appearance especially in natural light.
The real issue isn’t the season.
It’s doing the wrong treatment at the wrong time, or without a proper plan in place.
That’s why I always assess your skin first and tailor everything to you, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
If you’re thinking about improving your skin before summer but aren’t sure what’s safe or suitable, starting with a consultation is always the best place to begin.
