We had a great first session in our new home last night! So proud of our regular guests and our wonderful volunteers who met the challenges of a new venue head on and helped us all to adjust the new environment to make it the safe welcoming space they know and love. Huge thanks too to St Thomas's Church Rooms for having us and making us so welcome 🙌

Here's a couple of photos showing the inside of the church rooms which we took just before we opened. We chose to switch off some of the lights to keep our cosy vibe going; and keep some of the curtains closed so there's some privacy for our guests whilst still allowing us to see outside.

There's a small kitchen with hatch for serving our refreshments, and two individual toilets, one of which has disabled-friendly access.

As ever, we're happy to meet you outside and walk in with you if that helps 😊

A little video to welcome you to our new location!

Open tonight 6pm to 9pm in the Church Room on Marketplace, Market Rasen, between St Thomas's Parish Church and Andy's Charity shop.

Anyone 18+ finding life difficult is welcome - free, funded by NHS with Acts Trust. A warm welcome, a safe space, with refreshments, a listening ear and gentle activities.

⏰‼️📣 ANNOUNCEMENT ⏰‼️📣

Night Light Cafe - Market Rasen has a new home, starting Monday 13th April - same time, different place! - we'll be meeting at the Church Rooms on the Marketplace from now on.

It's the small brick building between Andy's charity shop & St Thomas Church. We'll be using the back door, which is step-free, to enable access for all - you'll see our banner just inside the door.

You'll find the same warm welcome, hot & cold drinks, snacks & treats, plus a selection of mindful activities as before, and a safe space to come and be if you're finding life difficult. All adults are welcome. Just message this page if you'd like someone to meet you outside - we know how scary that first step into a strange environment can be!

In order to keep opening every Monday, we're actively recruiting a few more volunteers to work alongside our wonderful team - are you a good listener? Can you make all sorts of people feel safe and welcome? Are you able to give around 3-4 hours on a Monday evening once a fortnight? Do you have lived experience of poor mental health, but in a good place now & stable for at least 6 months?

If the answer is YES!, then get in touch either by email nightlightcafemarketrasen@gmail.com or message this page to start our safe recruitment path to volunteering - an informal interview, DBS checking and references taken, then training in Mental Health Awareness and Safeguarding to ensure we continue to provide the best service for our guests.

Hi all, after our sessions tonight, Bro Pro will be taking a short break until Tuesday of next week so that our amazing volunteers can have a well deserved rest.

In the event of a mental health crisis/emergency, dont hesitate to call 111 and select the mental health option.

In life threatening circumstances always dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.

We are OPEN tonight 6pm to 9pm. There's beautiful fresh daffodils🏵 on the tables, yummy cake 🍰to eat, alongside our usual offerings of biscuits🍪 tea 🫖 coffee ☕️ hot chocolate🫕 and soup🍵 plus squash 🍹 for those who prefer to keep things cool 😎

A space for anyone finding life difficult. No diagnosis or referral needed, simply drop in at any time. We can even meet you outside if that helps - we know how scary that first step can be!

Night Light Cafe Market Rasen needs volunteers!

Our volunteers provide a warm welcome in a peaceful environment created to calm those who attend, offering a listening ear and signposting advice to guests. We provide games, colouring, puzzle books and jigsaws, reading, and other mindful activities alongside drinks and snacks.

Are you a good listener? Do you have lived experience of poor mental health but now in a good, stable place? Can you offer 3-4 hours every couple of weeks on a Monday evening?

If the answers are YES, then get in touch to arrange an informal interview so we can get to know you as part of our Safer Recruitment process. All our volunteers are given training in safeguarding and mental health awareness, and will be DBS checked.
