Stand up to Cerebral Palsy!
This is my kind of challenge 💪 in honour of CP awareness month.
It will include 1 minute of practicing standing up from the floor for people with CP or other movement disorders or 20 burpees for grown-up, family members or professionals.
School of conductive life have run this over the last two years with a mission to raise awareness that progress is possible if we practice one skill for 31 days - even if it is just 1-2 minutes a day.

Last year they had 54 people do the challenge and I want to double that number!!! So I’m asking my old, current and future patients to join in 💪 tag me in your posts and I will celebrate those children who smash their challenge ❤️

I SEE YOU… searching the toy aisle for a toy your child could ‘maybe’ use independently.

I SEE YOU… buying baby toys for your school age child.

I SEE YOU.. buying items you’d buy anyway but need something (anything) under the tree.

I SEE YOU.. wrapping presents you know you’ll be unwrapping for your child.

I SEE YOU… wipe away a tear as you are reminded just how delayed your child is.

I SEE YOU… searching for a toy that is not a therapy item to give.

I SEE YOU… crying as you’re reminded during the entire festive season just how different your child’s life is.

I SEE YOU… trying to enjoy the magic of Christmas although many of the traditions are hard for your disabled child.

I SEE YOU… cooking/baking food that your child won’t ever taste or touch.

I SEE YOU.

Christmas shopping can be a stark reminder of just how delayed your child is. To be honest, the entire festive season can be difficult. The magic! Traditions! All of it… Unnoticed or not enjoyed by your child.

But I want you to know, I see you!

I am you!

This super hero made me cry this week! I cry more at work than I do in my daily life but I am soooo fortunate that my tears are happy tears 🥹
I never knew if this day would come but Happy Henry is such a trooper and gives 110% week in week out!

He has fought through tough battles and together we have even fought the system. Without pure determination he would never have had SDR but because of who Henry is, he had the surgery and is smashing life and all its hurdles ❤️

Amazing opportunity- models needed for Dynamic Movement Intervention -DMI course coming to Manchester 26th June. Only hiccup is child needs to be under 5 or small.

DMI therapy is amazing and has hit the US like a storm. Only a few of us are qualified to provide this training in the UK. Check them out on instagram or feel free to contact me at ABC Physiotherapy for more info ❤️
