Wreath-Making Afternoon Fun! 🎄✨
residents spent a wonderful afternoon refreshing their Christmas door wreaths — and what a transformation! With friends and family joining in, we got creative, added some sparkle, and brought new life to wreaths that were looking a little tired.

Lots of laughter, plenty of festive spirit, and some truly beautiful results. ❤️✨

✨🐴 A festive surprise at Brendoncare Froxfield!

Residents and team members were delighted to welcome a very special visitor – Gin, a 12-year-old donkey from Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary near Didcot.

Gin toured the home with her owners, John and Linda McLaren, bringing calm, joy, and a touch of Christmas magic. The visit was inspired by resident Jan, who has adopted Bentley, another donkey at the sanctuary, and wanted to share the happiness these gentle animals bring.

Already something of a star, Gin has even appeared in Carmen at the Royal Opera House! 🎭

We all have an emotional link with donkeys, perhaps through memories of seaside rides or keeping them as pets. With her calm, patient nature and beautiful soft fur, the residents and team members all fell in love with gorgeous Gin.

Our residents had a fang-tastic afternoon of musical entertainment, thanks to the wonderful Liz and Dave . lorraine and Trudy from our Wellbeing Team Dressed to impress in their Halloween best, they had everyone singing, clapping, and dancing in their seats. 🕺💃

A big thank-you for bringing so much laughter, music, and Halloween spirit to our home! 🎃🧡

Residents at Froxfield had a fantastic time this week taking part in Steve’s Picture Quiz — our 15th quiz since Steve kindly began volunteering his time with us. A huge congratulations to Pamela, this month’s winner! 🏆👏

These quizzes aren’t just fun — they bring so many wonderful benefits to our residents, including:
💬 Encouraging conversation and social connection
🧩 Keeping minds active and boosting memory recall
😊 Building confidence and a sense of achievement
🎶 Sparking happy memories and laughter

Residents spent the afternoon sharing stories and their thoughts on the autumn season.
Each resident had to think of a word that reminded them of autumn, we then used the words to help us write our poem.

Pumpkins smile on Halloween,
Falling leaves make quite a scene,
Windy walks and fruit to pick,
Hot soup warms us up real quick!

Bonfire sparks light up the night,
Wrapped up warm, we’re snug and bright,
At Froxfield Care home we laugh and cheer,
Autumn’s our favourite time of year!

We all had our aprons on yesterday for a day of baking. Residents enjoyed making some delicious dog treats for all our visiting four legged friends , do pick up a bag of treats from reception when you visit over the next few days.
