A huge thank you to Christina and John for bringing so much joy to our residents with their wonderful live music – and of course to their fantastic roadie, Terry, too!

They generously gave their time to entertain us, and the atmosphere they created was truly magical. Live music in a care setting is so therapeutic – it lifts spirits, sparks memories, and brings people together in such a special way.

Some of our residents sang along, some danced in their seats, and others simply closed their eyes, relaxed, and soaked up the beautiful sounds.

This week we took a lovely drive through some of our beautiful surrounding villages – Ramsbury, Baydon, Aldbourne, and Lambourn Woodlands, to name just a few. We even stopped for a cuppa from our flask in a quiet lay-by, overlooking peaceful fields. Bliss! 💛

What a joyful afternoon we had at Froxfield thanks to the incredible Cosmic Sparkle! Residents were treated to an uplifting performance filled with singing, dancing, and plenty of smiles.

From classic hits to sing-along favorites, the music brought back treasured memories and filled the room with laughter and energy.

Live music isn’t just entertainment—it’s therapy. It boosts mood, encourages movement, and sparks meaningful connection, Today, we saw firsthand just how powerful a good tune (and a little sparkle!) can be.

Yesterday we were entertained by a new to us singing duo Seraphinia and her father Brian .
Residents loved the mix of 60s and more modern music and even sang along to some Beyoncé. We will definitely have this singing duo back again .

When one of our residents said she wanted a snake charmer for her 105th birthday, Paul from Feathers Fangs and furries really stepped up to the challenge. Residents in the lounge enjoyed getting up close and personal with some cuddly and not so cuddly animals and the birthday girl got her snake charmer .

Yesterday was our annual boat trip with Bruce Boats. We spent the day slowly going along the canal towards Froxfield . There was plenty of wildlife watching and lots of talk about what we could see , thankfully there were guide books onboard to help us identify some the plants and birds.
Everyone had a fantastic time and I’m sure will be talking about it for weeks.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our home – bringing joy, companionship, and energy into the lives of our residents. Whether you have a few hours or a regular day to give, there’s a place for you here.

✨ Here are just a few volunteer tasks you could help with:

Friendly Visitor: Spend time chatting with residents, sharing stories, playing cards, or simply being a warm presence.

Activities Helper: Support our staff with arts and crafts, quizzes, games, or singalongs – and maybe lead your own activity too!

Gardening Buddy: If you’ve got green fingers, help maintain our garden or enjoy planting and watering alongside residents.

Tech Support Volunteer: Help residents video call their families, explore online activities, or enjoy music and photos on tablets.

Walking Companion: Enjoy short strolls in our garden or nearby area with residents who like a little fresh air.

Whether you’re retired, a student, working part-time, or simply someone who cares, we’d love to chat about how you can get involved.

While we’re sad to say that Feathers, Fangs & Furries charity won’t be joining us tomorrow (it’s too hot for our furry, feathered friends & their safety is our top priority ♥️🐾🦜)

🎉 The sun is shining, the drinks cold, and the fun is ready to roll! 🎉
