Update to Cervival Screening (Smear Test):

From 1st July 2025, those who test negative for HPV, meaning they are at very low risk of cervical cancer over the next 10 years, will safely be invited at five-year intervals rather than three-year intervals, in line with major clinical evidence as per the UK national screening committee.

Those whose sample indicates the presence of HPV or who have had a recent history of HPV, will continue to be invited to more frequent screenings to check HPV has cleared and if not, if any cell changes have developed.

Your next screening date will be given to you on the result letter from your test.

Please call to book your smear test when you receive your invite.

All women and people with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64 should go for regular cervical screening.

Please visit the NHS website for more information.

Car Parking next week
Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership have arranged to have the moss removed from the surgery’s roof, the week commencing Monday 9 June 2025.

During this time, we will lose 3 parking spaces in the Car Park, so parking will be restricted more than usual. Therefore, we request that you do not park in the car park unless you are a Blue Badge holder or visiting Kennet Pharmacy.

Alternative free parking is available on George Lane opposite Pets in Practice.

The work may be noisy so we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

Blood Test Results Issues

We would like to update you all on recent problems with blood results reaching the practice. GWH have recently updated their pathology system and this has caused delays in results being sent to us. In addition, we are getting up to 7 copies of some results which are clogging up our systems. Some results are coming through with errors preventing us from processing them so that patients cannot see them on the NHS App.

KAMP have been assured by GWH that they are working through the issues that have been caused. KAMP are doing everything we can to minimise the impact for patients until GWHS solve the issues. We would ask patients to bear with us and to contact their specialists at the hospital for any tests requested by them. Please contact PALS at the hospital with any further concerns.

We listen to patient feedback and work with teams and departments across the Trust to improve the way we do things for future patients.

As a result, the patients registered with her will be reallocated to GPs across KAMP to ensure their lists are balanced. This is a very delicate process to ensure that our doctors look after the right number of patients and that households, for example, stay together where possible.

As ever, you are welcome to book appointments with any of GPs who work across both the Marlborough and Pewsey sites, you do not always have to see your named GP.

We would ask that anyone affected by these changes remains with their newly allocated GP for at least 3 months before requesting a change.

It is with mixed feelings that we announce that Dr. Sally Hanson will retire from general practice at the end of April. Dr Hanson has spent the last 30 years at KAMP; she has always shown real…
