An HM Armed Forces Veteran Card is a way to prove that you served in the UK armed forces. The card can make it quicker and easier to apply for support as a Veteran. You’ll get your Veteran Card in your service leavers’ pack within 6 weeks of leaving the armed forces.

If you left the armed forces before December 2018, you need to apply for a Veteran Card - https://www.gov.uk/veteran-card/apply

If you’ve already got your card, you can get a digital version of your Veteran Card on your phone - https://www.gov.uk/veteran-card/get-digital

Who can get a Veteran Card?

You can get a card if you were in the regulars or reserves for the:
Royal Navy
British Army
Royal Air Force
Royal Marines

You may also be able to get a card if you served in:
the Royal Fleet Auxiliary
the Merchant Navy - and you sailed in support of the UK armed forces
another group in the UK armed forces

Veteran Card: apply, get a digital version, request a replacement, what you can get when you use it to prove you served in the UK armed forces.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that can be transmitted to humans when they are bitten by an infected tick.

• ‘be tick aware’ and remember that you could be exposed to ticks whenever you spend time outdoors, including when in your garden or the local park
• ticks mainly attach to animals, but sometimes they may bite you or your family. It is important to remember that bites can occur on any part of the body and more than one tick can be attached at a time
• you can reduce the chance of tick bites by walking on clearly defined paths, using insect repellent and performing regular tick checks
• some tick bites can result in infection, so it is important to remove ticks safely and as quickly as possible
• the safest way to remove a tick is by using a pair of fine-tipped tweezers or a tick removal tool

🧠 Unpaid Carers in Wiltshire: Prioritising Mental Health and Wellbeing

In Wiltshire, there are thousands of unpaid Carers providing care to family members, friends, or Neighbours, with many of these carers dedicating over 50 hours each week, which is a commitment that can significantly impact mental health and wellbeing.

Nationally, nearly half of unpaid Carers report negative effects on their health due to caregiving responsibilities, with 19.5% experiencing low mental wellbeing.

If you are struggling with your well-being then why not come along to one of our Carer Cafés? They are all about unpaid Carers connecting, having fun, and looking after their mental well-being! It’s a relaxed space, with free refreshments, where Carers can chat, take a break, and catch up. Find a Carer Café local to you by checking our the events page of our website: www.carerstogetherwiltshire.org.uk/events/

If you feel you need mental health support, then reach out to Alabaré. They are part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership delivering mental health support services. They are committed to providing expert mental health support at the right time and in the right place for people living in Wiltshire.
