I’m delighted to be presenting at the RCCM Conference today. Are you joining?

I will be sharing my clinical research from a multi-modal pilot study investigating the integration of NADA auricular acupuncture with clinical hypnotherapy for patients with diagnosed clinical anxiety disorders.

The study examines the potential synergistic effects of combining these two interventions, with preliminary findings indicating measurable benefits in symptom reduction and overall treatment outcomes.

This research contributes to the growing evidence base for integrative, multi-modal approaches in mental health care and highlights opportunities for further controlled trials.

I am so looking forward to engaging with colleagues on the implications for clinical practice and future research pathways.

Always good to see more evidence building for acupuncture.

✨ New Cochrane Review Confirms Acupuncture Helps with Chronic Low Back Pain!

A newly published Cochrane review of reviews has examined non-drug and non-surgical treatments for low back pain. The results? Acupuncture effectively reduces pain and improves function for those with chronic low back pain! 🎯

🔸 Acupuncture is already integrated into mainstream healthcare in several countries:
✅ Statutory regulated in Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal
✅ Covered by healthcare insurance in Germany and New Zealand
✅ Recommended in clinical guidelines when seeking out a PSA registered practitioner (BAcC)

However the study highlights that many clinical trials underestimate the real benefits of acupuncture because they don’t reflect the personalised treatments given by traditional acupuncturists.

⚡ Traditional acupuncture:
✔️ Is a safe intervention when provided by trained professionals
✔️ Can be a long-term solution for pain management

🔍 Looking for a trusted acupuncturist? The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) ensures the highest standards of training, safety, and professional conduct. Find a qualified practitioner near you today!

TREATMENT MODELS NEEDED — SATURDAY, 29th MARCH
🕘 Sessions available from 9am to 1pm
📍 The Lodge, 51A High Street, Wallingford, OX10 8JE

I’m mentoring a fully qualified and insured auricular acupuncture practitioner this Saturday to help build her confidence and efficiency in needling within a group setting, as she prepares for upcoming workshops aimed at supporting the wider community and those with chronic health conditions.

What is NADA Auricular Acupuncture?
This evidence-based treatment works by stimulating key points on the ear that influence the body’s neurochemical messaging system, helping to calm the nervous system, regulate stress hormones, and support better sleep and emotional balance. It’s been widely used to help with stress, anxiety, trauma recovery, and overall wellbeing — promoting a deep sense of calm and restoration.

If you’ve ever wondered about the calming, restorative power of ear acupuncture — for both body and mind — this is the perfect chance to try it. For just £5 per person, you can experience a 60-minute group session designed to leave you feeling grounded and rebalanced.

🌿 Why join us?
-Ideal for first-timers — A gentle introduction to auricular acupuncture.
-Bring a friend — Share a truly restorative experience together.
-Guided relaxation — After the needles are placed, you’ll be guided through somatic breathing and visualisation, followed by quiet time to let your body do the work.

Spaces are limited, and this mentoring session is for one day only — this Saturday, 29th March.

Don’t miss this opportunity to invest in your wellbeing. Secure your spot now! ✨

Finding Joy Instead of Resolutions…

The start of a new year often comes with a familiar ritual: setting resolutions. But for many, those lofty goals bring more frustration than fulfillment.

By February, the gym memberships may be at risk of gathering dust, and the promises to “do better” can leave us feeling worse 😞

What if, instead of resolutions, we focused on joy? The quiet, meaningful moments that already exist in our daily lives.

Here’s how to approach 2025 with a fresh perspective:

🎈1.Celebrate what you’ve achieved: Reflect on your journey so far and acknowledge how far you’ve come, even in the small things.

🎈2.Embrace the ordinary: A warm hug, a crisp winter walk, or a favourite song— these are the moments that bring true happiness.

🎈3.Promise yourself presence: Instead of big resolutions, make a simple vow to slow down and savour the present.

🎈4.Set intentions, not goals: Intentions are kinder and more flexible. They encourage growth without the fear of failure.

🤩This New Year, let’s leave behind the pressure of reinvention and instead lean into joy.

By celebrating what’s already good in our lives, we set the tone for a year of gratitude, contentment, and balance 🙏🏻

After all, a joyful heart is the best resolution of all 🥰

“Joy; the kind of happiness that doesn’t
depend on what happens” - David Steindl Rast
