Qigong is traditionally practised in three styles, martial, medical and spiritual:-
☯️Martial Qigong - Designed to increase physical strength, stamina, and power for martial arts, often referred to as "active Qigong". It utilizes deep, stable postures and focuses on building internal strength.
The two we focus on with are:
☯️ Medical Qigong - in line with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), used in hospitals, Focused on self-healing, preventing disease, and promoting longevity. It involves gentle movements, breathing, and sometimes massage to improve circulation, relieve stress, and enhance the immune system.
☯️ Spiritual Qigong - Focused on meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual growth. It is not religious, but an exploration of reality, mind, life, etc. Including Neigong and Neidan Taoist inner alchemy practises. Traditionally Taoist and later Buddhist. It is going past conditioning and limited belief systems and a separate self to develop awareness and see more clearly, with wisdom practises.
All three deliver incredible health benefits through regulating breathing, entering the parasympathetic nervous system, building proprioception through slow mindful movement, calming the mind, settling emotions, building flexibility through movement and stretching. Plus the benefits of being in nature in a wonderful community 🫂
