Higginson parkrun, Marlow

A free, weekly, timed 5k walk/jog/run at 9:00am every Saturday. Open to all ages and abilities. Organised entirely by volunteers. Friendly and fun. Join us!

Unfortunately we are going to have to cancel this weekend (Saturday 20th December). The river is rising from yesterday’s rain.

Let us know where you’re going.

Fingers crossed it drops for Christmas Day. We will keep you updated.

Things have been rather damp today and the river is now really close to flooding the course. We’ll update tomorrow night so keep an eye on here.

Are you looking for something to do on Thursday, 25th December?

If so, at 9am it will be parkrun time! If you have never done parkrun before, then you can come and run, jog or walk 5km with us. We start at the skatepark, around Higginson Park, before heading down the towpath and back.

On Christmas Day 2024, we had our record attendance of 327 (which we beat this summer), and we have a feeling that we are going to beat our record again (378 needed).

It doesn't matter if you've been naughty or nice!

Free parking is available after 10am on:

T’is the season to watch out for the river!

As we’ve had a lot of rain over the last few weeks the river is now quite high and we run the risk of cancellations.

We will keep Facebook updated but be prepared that we may have to cancel. If we need to cancel we will update our parkrun page and we’ll also update on Facebook.

Well done to the 126 of you who braved the horrible conditions this morning. I've noted those of you who stayed in bed.

Thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen.

We are a little short of volunteers over the next month, so please do help out. If you can just help at one event, it would make things run so much smoother. You can just pop us a message.

On Wednesday (3rd) we are having a little festive drink at the Marlow Donkey. Do pop along if you can - we'll be there from 7.30pm. It's open to everyone.

We are excited to announce that we have been given permission to set up a junior parkrun in Higginson Park!! 😃 🏃‍♀️

Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday mornings at 9am and is a 2km run for 4-14 year olds. The focus is on inclusivity and participation, meaning everyone is welcome to walk, jog, run, or volunteer at the event.

There’s a lot to do before we can start, so we are looking to build a team of volunteers from the local community who can help bring this to life.

There’s a role for everyone, even if your availability is limited. Maybe you can bring skills or knowledge in administration, planning, risk assessing, funding sources, training, or you are simply enthused about the idea!

Well done to everyone who came down today to celebrate event 250.

We have had a couple of tokens given out in the wrong order between about 150 and 185. If your time is out, let us know - we have fixed what we've seen.

Well done to Philip on his 500, he's done that in just over 11 years! Well done on our other milestones and all those with PBs.

Don't forget, if you'd like to join us for a Christmas drink on 3rd December to let us know so we can organise the right-sized space.

3rd December - As it's the season to be jolly, we plan on having a festive drink or two. Everyone is welcome. Please let us know if you'd like to come along. Just comment on the post, or pop us a message so we can arrange the right sized venue. It will be in central Marlow starting at 7.30pm.
