At this time of year many people suffer from a stiff or painful back, neck, shoulders or joints. As well as acupuncture, our clinic also offers Chinese hot herbal therapy treatment...

We have personally sourced, in China, a unique mix of therapeutic anti-inflammatory herbs used for centuries by traditional doctors to treat conditions such arthritis, rheumatism, migraine, tight tendons, blood circulation & joint pain. After picking these herbs are wrapped in muslin and sealed, and we bring them to the UK to use for our patients.

I'd like to wish my friends and patients a very happy Chinese New Year!

It's now the year of the Horse - a period of energy, change, and independent action, characterised by themes of freedom, passion, and adventure. Also associated with confidence, intelligence, and vitality, this zodiac sign encourages moving boldly forward, seeking breakthroughs, and embracing transformation!

Hello everyone and a quick update:
I was in China for a month just before Christmas, sourcing a fresh supply of the specialist medicinal herbs used in my family's old traditional Chinese medical recipe formulas (going back 200+ years). I use them here in the UK mainly to support my acupuncture patients with additional pain relief when needed.

I seem to getting a lot of reviews on Google at the moment and here is one that came in this week which I want to share:

"I went to Dr Lucy with low morale, anxiety, no appetite and osteoarthritis. Dr Lucy skillfully and with patience, took great care of me, and after a few sessions I could see fantastic improvements:
-my energy levels increased, and I could catch up on things I kept postponing
-I could eat variety of foods without being in pain and managed to gain weight
-my ankle pain improved tremendously, I can now get off bed and walk straight away with little to no pain
-inflammation in my joints has calmed down

In the last few weeks two of my patients have become pregnant, via IVF, and one has just had a lovely strong baby boy. I am so proud that my acupuncture has been able to help these lovely ladies.

Now many IVF consultants send their patients to start acupuncture before treatment, to maximise their chances of success.

School Holidays...often a stressful time for all.

These days more parents are bringing their children to see me, suffering from depression and stress - often manifested by headaches, dizziness or nausea...and a reluctance to go to school.

As part of my research I have discussed this with two separate head teachers and realise that what used to be known as "teenage depression" is often now starting in children as young as 11 years old - and is seen more in girls, as boys tend to hide it better. These children need understanding and support (and so do their parents!) otherwise it could affect the rest of their lives.

Very happy to have just received this review:
I went to Dr Lucy as I was struggling with insomnia, hot flushes (even though I have gone through the menopause, they had come back) depression and a severe gut imbalance which I’d had for many years. I had hit rock bottom but after my very first visit I came away feeling relaxed and more focused. After having a number of sessions over a one week period, I am well on the way to recovery. I’m sleeping well, the hot flushes have stopped and I’m completely focused on rebuilding a healthy relationship with food. My blood pressure has even dropped considerably and is lower than it’s been for years! Dr Lucy is kind, caring and doesn’t rush you through your appointment. She takes her time to understand you and your body and from the moment I walked into the room I felt completely at ease. Thank you Dr Lucy!
