We are also a RYA, Rescue 3 Europe and Qualsafe Training Centre.

Been a bit of a different week for the team at Medical and Water Safety Ltd.

Alongside running back-to-back courses, we’ve had some of the team attending The Health and Safety Event at the NEC – a great opportunity to keep up to date with the latest in the industry.

Behind the scenes, it’s been all hands on deck getting vehicles prepped and kit loaded, ready for a busy weekend ahead. We’ll be covering 5 triathlons and 1 rowing event, providing both water safety and medical support.

Another busy week for the team at Medical and Water Safety Ltd 💪

We’ve delivered 2 days of DEFRA-compliant Water Awareness course's alongside a Powerboat Level 2 course — and we’re doing it all again next week!

Behind the scenes, planning is well underway for the first weekend of May, where we’ll be covering 5 triathlons and a rowing event 🚣‍♂️. Add to that our regular venues and managing an open water swimming lake, and it’s shaping up to be a big season.

We did manage to squeeze in a bit of creativity too — transforming one of our training rooms with a new feature wall made from old maps 🗺️

Bit of a different week for the team at Medical and Water Safety Ltd.

We kicked things off delivering a Fire Warden course in Mansfield for a quarry site 🧯 before heading up to Northern Diver for a drysuit repair course and to collect some new stock.

Back on the training side, we ran a DEFRA Module 2 CPD session for a flood team 🌊 keeping skills sharp and up to date.

We’ve also added to the fleet this week, picking up a new boat ready for safety cover, alongside prepping all boats and vehicles for the busy week ahead 🚤

Always something different, always moving forward 👊

The bank holiday didn’t slow us down 💪🚑

We rounded off the Easter weekend by providing dedicated medical cover at a fantastic 10K and Half Marathon event, supporting hundreds of runners as they took on the challenge.

From the first wave crossing the start line to the final finishers pushing through, our team was on hand throughout — ready to respond, support, and help ensure everyone stayed safe while achieving something incredible.

We’re proud to play our part in keeping events like this safe and running smoothly.

💧 Raising the Standard in Water Safety 💧

Over the weekend, members of the Medical and Water Safety Ltd team successfully completed the Rescue 3 Europe Weir Rescue Course.

This specialist training enhances our capability to operate safely and effectively in one of the most hazardous water environments — weirs — giving us even more rescue options when providing safety cover.

As standard, our weir operations are already staffed with: Rescue 3 Europe Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Boat Operators on the helm
& Swiftwater Rescue Technicians as crew

Many of our team also volunteer with their local Search and Rescue organisations, so continuing to develop their skills not only benefits our operations, but also helps raise training standards within the wider rescue community.

By adding this additional qualification, we continue to strengthen our response capability and improve the level of safety we deliver on every deployment.

We’re committed to continually investing in our team and skills — because raising standards in water safety isn’t optional, it’s essential.

🚤 Training Shifted Up a Gear This Week! 🌊

This week at Medical and Water Safety Ltd, we’ve moved from in the water to on the water.

We kicked things off delivering another DEFRA Compliant Water Awareness Course, continuing our work supporting teams to stay safe around water environments.

To round off the week, we were out on the water running an Royal Yachting Association Powerboat Level 2 course for two coaches from the GB Rowing Team 🚣‍♂️ — a great couple of days building confidence, boat handling skills, and safety knowledge on the water.

From awareness to practical boat handling, it’s been a fantastic mix of training!

Over the last two weeks our training team at Medical and Water Safety Ltd have been busy running back-to-back Rescue 3 Europe Safe Working In Water courses. 🌊

These courses were attended by teams from River Side Tree Care in Maidenhead, the salvage and marina team at Runnymead Boatyard, and staff from Harleyford Estate Ltd – all committed to improving safety for their staff and customers around the water. 👏

The Rescue 3 Europe Safe Working In Water (SWIW) course is designed for people who work in water environments and need the skills to perform self-rescue and co-worker rescue using conditional rescue techniques. Training includes:
• Throwbag rescues
• Wading techniques
• Reach pole rescues
• Dynamic risk awareness around moving water

It’s great to see marina and waterside teams investing in the right training to make their workplaces safer. ⚓

We also deliver the 1-day Rescue 3 Europe Safe Working Near Water (SWNW) course. This is aimed at staff who work near water, will be issued with lifejackets, but are not expected to intentionally enter the water.

🔥 A very busy week for the Medical and Water Safety Ltd training team! 🔥

We’ve been full throttle delivering training across both our water safety and medical teams.

✅ We started the week running the first of 25 DEFRA compliant Water Awareness courses for a client, helping staff understand the real risks of working near water and how to stay safe.

🌊 Next up was a 2-day Rescue 3 Europe – Safe Working in Water course, giving candidates the practical skills and confidence needed to operate safely in and around moving water environments.

🚑 Meanwhile, our medical team have been delivering a First Response Emergency Care (FREC) course, training the next group of responders to deal with real-life emergencies.

With multiple courses running at the same time it was a little busy on site today, but it’s great to see so many people developing vital lifesaving skills.

🚤🔧 Prepping the Fleet for 2026! 🔧🚤

Behind every safe event and smooth operation is a lot of hard work before the season even starts…

Over the past few weeks we’ve been busy servicing and preparing a number of our boats, making sure they’re fully ready for the year ahead.

Preventative maintenance is key to reliability on the water – especially when you’re providing professional safety cover.

A few of the team also headed down to Tohatsu UK for specialist training in servicing, fault finding and general maintenance of our outboards. Investing in manufacturer-led training means we can keep our engines running at peak performance and minimise downtime during the busy season.
While we were there… we may have picked up a few more engines too 👀

Back at base, we’ve also been freshening up the fleet with some new branding on both boats and outboards – keeping everything looking sharp, professional and easily identifiable on the water.
