As the nights are drawing in, our memorial tree and Remembrance window are lighting up our branch. We are proud to support the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal with a beautiful collection of knitted poppies alongside our community board showcasing events coming up in our local area

Today we are very proud to share the first official photograph of our CEO and founder Linda Magistris meeting His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, at Windsor Castle.

Linda received her OBE earlier this month for services to the bereaved.

Linda said:

'These past 11 years since my partner Graham died have been incredibly challenging in many ways, but we have pushed through and driven key national initiatives, which are now thriving and helping many who are bereaved up and down the country.

We will continue to drive our vision forward, and I am thrilled that we have grown in strength, in determination, in support and most importantly in our community, where so many have joined our cause, for which I am eternally grateful’

That's our winter warmer collection for the Rotary Club 'all wrapped up' for this year. Thankyou so much to all of the people who popped in to say hello and contribute towards the many donations we have had, the support has been fantastic! The coats, hats, scarves and gloves are now on their way to be distributed to those in need in our local area.

A big Thankyou to all of you who have kindly donated your pre loved winter warmers to our Wrap Up collection for the Rotary Club! We have almost filled our second box ready to distribute to those in need of warm coats, hats, gloves and scarves in our local area. Don't forget the collection box will be here in our Marske branch until the 20th October if anybody would like to add to the donations we already have.

Kathryn, one of our Marske Funeral Arrangers, decided to take part in a sponsored swim throughout September to raise awareness for mental health and try to prevent su***de by encouraging those who are struggling to be able to talk to someone. She completed the target of 10km and went on to complete the month finishing on 16km whilst raising over £130 for the Sport Relief charity 🏊

Are you having a wardrobe refresh in time for the winter? At Coop Funeralcare we are supporting the Rotary Club Wrap Up Appeal. Kathryn and Jane have a drop box in our Marske square branch where you can donate unwanted warm coats, scarves, hats etc to help local people who may otherwise struggle to keep warm over the colder months. We welcome donations for adults, children and babies and will be collecting donations until the 20th October to pass onto a variety of local charities, homeless shelters and womens and childrens centres.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day, to raise awareness and ultimately try to prevent it. Here at Marske Funeralcare we recognise how important it is to reach out to anyone who is struggling and our door is always open for a chat and a cuppa. Kathryn, one of our Funeral Arrangers, is taking on a 10km swim throughout September to raise mental health awareness alongside the charity Sport Relief. As she's ahead of target so far we might need to encourage her to make it 15km! 🏊
