At Solihull Action through Advocacy, we stand alongside people like him every day.
What do we do?
Our Prevention Advocacy work is about stepping in before people reach crisis point.
Through our Hospital Prevention Project in Solihull, we work with individuals at risk of hospital admission to:
-Help them understand their rights
-Make sure their voices are heard in care planning
-Prevent unnecessary sectioning by supporting in the community
-Challenge decisions and improve communication between services
Our goal?
To prevent situations like the one in this article where help turns into harm by offering early, proactive advocacy that puts the person at the centre.
Nobody should feel punished for asking for help.
Advocacy saves lives. Advocacy prevents crisis.
