๐ก Hot Weather Safety Tips
Avoid the sun between 11amโ3pm
Schedule outdoor activities for cooler times (morning/evening)
Keep your home shaded and cool
Stay hydrated โ drink plenty of water and limit alcohol
Check in on family, friends, and neighbours at higher risk
Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke
โค๏ธ Who's at Higher Risk in Hot Weather? Anyone can become unwell when it's hot, but people at greater risk include:
๐ต Older adults 65+ (updated from previous 75+ guidance)
๐ถ Babies and children under 5
โค๏ธ People with underlying health conditions (e.g. heart/lung conditions, dementia, diabetes, kidney disease, Parkinsonโs)
๐คฐ Pregnant women
๐ People on certain medications
๐ง Individuals with serious mental health issues
๐ฉบ Those already unwell or dehydrated
๐ท People affected by alcohol or drug dependence
๐โโ๏ธ Outdoor enthusiasts and manual labourers
๐๏ธ Those without stable housing or unable to adapt their living conditions
๐ค People living alone who might struggle to care for themselves

Medication Reminder: Keep taking prescribed medicines unless told otherwise by a healthcare professional. Check if your meds need to be stored below 25ยฐC or in the fridge.
