And just like that its all over….. Shifting Stones is no more. As I reflect on the past six and a half years in my treatment room at the Old School, and a couple of years prior to that when I worked from home, I realise that this business would have been nothing without you, my clients. Those who came for one visit, those who stayed with me for a few treatments and moved on, and those extra special ones who stayed with me throughout, I appreciate every single one of you. You all contributed to what was a successful wee business, a business that couldn’t have survived without you. Being dealt a lockdown after barely a year in business was tough, being dealt another one only a few months later was tougher. Opening back up and making sure that my treatment room was a safe place for everyone brought its own challenges, but we made it, you and I. Especially those who trusted me enough to come back for treatments when the virus was still very much out there (as it is today).
I feel a little melancholy at closing, I will miss the interaction with so many interesting people from such diverse backgrounds, and I’ll miss making people feel better, special and a little pampered even for a wee while, but I have made some new friends and I’ve definitely learned a lot - about myself as much as anything else! The time is right to move to the next stage of my life….. retirement! And I am looking forward to that.
So, that’s all folks! It’s been a challenge, at times its been a headache, but most of all its been a pleasure xx
