We made the most of today’s beautiful weather at Darcy House ☀️

We are so lucky to be surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife, and we can’t wait to see our seeds bloom 🌱🌸

We also enjoyed a lovely hot drink while listening to the birds tweet 🫖🐦

☘️ Happy St Patrick’s Day from everyone at Darcy House 💚

We’ve had a wonderful day celebrating together here at Darcy House!

This morning, everyone enjoyed taking part in a fun St Patrick’s Day quiz in our café, along with some delicious themed cupcakes and fresh coffee ☕🧁

This afternoon, we came together again to listen to Irish music, enjoyed some tasty snacks, and even had a go at a little Irish dancing 🎶💃
Of course, there were also a few glasses of Guinness enjoyed along the way 🍀

Our staff joined in the fun too, with some coming dressed in green ,thank you to everyone who helped make today so special for our residents 💚

🔧 Meet Mike – Our Maintenance Manager!

Every home needs someone who can fix just about anything… and that’s where Mike comes in! From squeaky doors and wobbly chairs to those little jobs that appear out of nowhere, Mike is always ready with his toolbox and a smile.

He works hard behind the scenes to keep our home safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for our residents and team. You’ll often see him popping in for a quick chat while he’s on his rounds ,he’s always happy to lend a hand.

Today we celebrate the amazing women in our home ,our lovely residents who inspire us with their wisdom and life stories, and our fantastic female staff who show compassion, dedication, and care every day.

We would like to invite our local community to come and join us for our Easter Egg Hunt in our beautiful gardens.

This is a free-of-charge event and a lovely opportunity for families and children to enjoy some Easter fun together. Everyone is welcome!🐣🐰

🎨 February Activities 🐾

We’ve had a wonderful and creative February!

Our arts & crafts group , have been full of colour as we explored splatter painting, and everyone is incredibly proud of their beautiful creations.

We’ve continued to enjoy our Walking Wednesdays, taking in our lovely surroundings and spotting the first signs of spring , snowdrops and daffodils are starting to bloom 🌼

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a delightful afternoon tea 🍰, finished off perfectly with a fantastic musical performance from Sarah 🎵

We also loved our pet drop-in visits from Betty and Morse 🐾It’s always such a joy spending time with them.

One of our highlights this month was a trip to the Magna Science Adventure Centre, where we learned lots about the steelworks in Sheffield , such an interesting and educational day out!

We have lots of exciting activities to look forward to in March 🌷☘️

Ed works so hard to create meaningful, fun and engaging activities for our residents each and every day. From games and music sessions to special events and celebrations, he helps bring smiles, laughter and wonderful memories to our home.

Laura is currently completing her Level 3 in Adult Care so she can progress to become a Senior Care Assistant — We wish Laura all the best in achieving her course 🙂

Yesterday we celebrated Valentine’s Day in the most wonderful way 💕

We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, followed by a beautiful Valentine’s performance with Sarah Bright. We sang, we danced, and spent the afternoon surrounded by romantic music and lovely memories ✨

We also celebrated a very special couple’s 26th wedding anniversary and surprised them with their wedding song – such a magical moment 💖

Today in Arts & Crafts, we were delighted to welcome Hannah, who is currently studying Art at university. She came in to share some of her amazing work, along with the fantastic sketches she completed here at Darcy House last month as part of her degree.

Together, we created some beautiful bookmarks and enjoyed a lovely, creative afternoon.
One of our wonderful residents also shared a painting from her time working as a matron, telling heartfelt story about her career.

Thank you hannah for being part of Darcy house, we look forward to welcoming you agian, we wish you all the best with your degree 🎨
