Founded during the winter of 2011, by Azim Nobeebaccus, Moksha Meditation has been established initially as a collective of holistic practitioners with a common love & knowledge from all walks of life. It is clear that daily life provides a variety of struggles, traumas and anxiety’s that can reduce or even halt our happiness. We are often left feeling imprisoned moving from thought to thought trying to find a way out, trying to find some amount of peace. Moksha therapies works towards internal peace, a peace which cannot be disturbed by the external environment. Moksha simply means to let go, release or surrender. To accept whatever situations come our way, results in transition through them, rather than being stuck or at war with ourselves. Sometimes we don’t like the cards we are dealt, simply because we are coming from a place of judgement. Meditation is at the heart of Moksha, working towards higher levels of awareness & consciousness. The Moksha approach is to allow your natural state to return and to stay in your natural state. The Moksha approach is as follows, and this guideline is followed through our practice to achieve higher levels of perception acceptance & awareness. By helping ourselves, turning inwards to confront our internal conflicts and overcome them, we than learn how to heal others. There are some Misconceptions about meditation..

Meditation is not the forceful removal of thoughts & feelings. Meditation is the acceptance of our current state of being. This fluctuates as our moods and 'vibes' change. Meditation is a disciplined practise which requires consistenty. It is a process. Meditation is complete allowance, acknowledge & acceptance of our current state. The good , the bad, the ugly will all be experienced during meditation. The resistance which someone occurs in meditation, is ourselves resisting a change that needs to happen. Meditation is returning to a natural evolving flowing state. The resistance is US getting in the way.

Meditation is returning back to our wholesome nature.

Facilitating a space where others can truly heal from the inside out is at the essence of what I do. There are many avenues to healing, overcoming and letting go of the 'clutter'. Be it talking therapies, touch therapies, dietary changes, mindset shifting. I like to infuse it all together, a truly holistic approach treating mind, body & spirit.

This testimonial is from a client who came along today to have a Shiatsu treatment. It is not only the client to learns, grows and comes to realisations, but also myself. The learning never stops and approaching with a curious us mind allows us to constantly question what we are doing, where we are coming from with our approach, and reassess our beliefs as we continuously evolve!

In this age of Information, our senses are bombarded and it's ever more challenging to hold our space, be our true self and not get swayed by the storm of the world. it's necessary to stay disciplined, grounded and consistent in our actions. If not we will get taken for a ride. As I've said numerous times, do we allow we control us or do we take the responsibility on choosing how we wish to move forward in this life.

So, a few months ago .v.n wrote a speech on Racism, most of which included her personal experiences. When I heard the speech, the words were so potent and moving I asked Ruby if I could share these words. so here it is, today I'm a proud dad today as ruby puts herself in a vulnerable position and delivers this speech to her whole school. please give it a watch, as it confirms racism is still well and truly here.

As the title suggests, repressing emotions is not a sign of strength, quite the opposite. This approach is dated and its time to change the paradigm. By repressing we are pushing down the natural flow of energy in motion. By connecting, having awareness, we actually bring all the 'stuff' which we hold to light. Slowly, slowly catch a monkey, there is rush, especially when we are recalibirating our approach to our emotions. 💜

Shiatsu, Reiki and Touch therapies are back on from this Monday 12th April. Yay!

The practice of Shiatsu itself involves using fingers — the word translates from the Japanese to mean "finger pressure" — as well as hands, elbows, knees and even feet on points across a patient's body. Shiatsu is deeply relaxing, but it also helps treat many health problems, along with their underlying causes.

Shiatsu stimulates circulation and blood flow, enhancing the body's own ability to heal itself. Some of the many reason Shiatsu works:

Restores the following systems: nervous, lymphatic, hormonal and circulatory

Increases endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers

Improves stamina, energy and vitality

Enhances coordination and range of motion

You know, a great medicine is to be discovered in the depths of our pain and suffering. That medicine, found only in the deepest of our wounds can be the greatest source to catalyst positive change and transformation within our lives. Trust that, on the other side of pain and suffering is freedom & empowerment.

When you are ready the first step is acknowledging you are ready taking a leap over the first hurdle. Know the support and tools you may need and dont be afraid to keep them by your side. We were never taught to concept of letting go or seeking to understand our pain in school. For me atleast it was quite the opposite, turn away from the pain and constantly distract myself.

It is the most natural process to know yourself more and more. If you want to move away from old identities which no longer serve you, you have to start to become the person you have never been before. Take the leap. 💜

I'm always amazed how the weather changes can impact us and our state of beings on various levels. Me and River are suckers for a little visit from Mr Sun. It's a great reminder that during tough times the light which shines beyond the clouds doesn't always make itself known but it is always there.

We live on an island where its not uncommon to experience all seasons in 1 day. Actually, life can sometimes seem like a bit of an island with rapid and constant weather changes... Getting tugged and thrown about in all directions,until we recognise that sunshine we seek, the light we crave, is in us all the time. Come snow, sleet or shine, keep your feet on your ground & smile strong.

Been plucking away at sharpening up my skills the past few months and adding CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to the toolkit with The Academy of Modern Applied Psychology. A few years ago i would have turned my head away at this as another psychotherapautical model purely just through an unjustified judgement. Just an unhelpful belief i had at the time....
What i discovered through CBT has infact been quite mind blowing to have these fantastic mind approaches presented in a different 'language'

CBT is an extremely effective treatment form of psychotherapy for conditions where anxiety or depression are the main problems. Aswel as ocds, ptsd, trauma, poor communication and just have a generally low opinion of oneself, cbt is goal focused, collaborative and aims to bring you out of these unhealthy and unhelpful ways of being. The beauty of it is, the change can be rapid & quick.

With any form of therapy or energy work, the therapist is just the facilitator prompting you to assess, think or approach things from a perspective you might not have considered.

You are literally 1 decision away from change. Think about it.... The first thought is, oh s**t, I'm not happy, I'm not feeling fulfilled, i am not where I want to be,I need to change or something needs to change. This is the first hurdle, when your desire to change becomes stronger than your desire to stay the same.

But, most people stop here or move very slowly in the knowing that they gotta do something. All the self limiting beliefs step in, the comfort zone is safe & secure. We can be happy in the comfort zone, but can we truly be fulfilled? Will be learn? Will be grow?

Move forward with faith, not fear.
Movement, not stagnation. You simply, do not know what you might discover, quit allowing your past 'failures' to shape your future and creating expectations. The time is always now to take action, a step at a time. After all, how do you eat an elephant?

Pretending to show an emotion that we are not feeling and creating a facade is something we are well versed in as human beings. Its amazing how we pick up and learn these counter productive skills!

How many times have you answered, when asked tbe question how are you? yes I'm feeling great, top of the world! When really, you don't feel ok, and feel like the world around you is toppling over. It's nothing more than a habit, a learnt behaviour - to appear like we have it all together. How are we ever going to get anywhere, by pretending to be something we are not?

Toxic Positivity lacks in expansiveness or curiousity as it predetermines everything as great and amazing! You know the one, 'oh you need to be positive to get yourself through this' or 'you' ll get over it'

do you or will you? Or do you just need to be authentic, real and straight up with yourself and others and really explore what is actually going on?

Drop the facades, it's okay to not be okay. Authenticity attracts authenticity. Opening up with how your really feeling, actually encourages others to do the same creating a deeper connection with your fellow human. Keep life real.

What differentiates a 'good' day from a 'bad' day? Its interesting isn't it that we set expectations from the moment we wake up. 'This is gonna be a great day, or this days gonna be tough, or especially in this time another boring groundhog day'.

When really in truth we do not have a clue what situations might arise or what is around the corner. Yes, have a positive outlook and approach but be real. S**t happens sometimes and sometimes we commonly forget to :-

- Manage our negative emotions and find ways to self regulate

- Be real about what we should feel

- remember that It's okay to feel more than one thing

- Focus on listening in to our gut feeling and showing yourself some support

- Notice how we feel. The feeling has arised for a reason

Failures, mishaps, losses are all part of life and they can happen at anytime anyday. Pretending to be ok, when we are not ok, is common, we probaly all do it to some extent. However, It is ok to not be ok. It really is!

Move through today with presence, good, bad are your perceptions which only you have the power to readjust or change.

With everything going on, from politics to pandemic, it is so easy to get swooped up in anger, fustrstions, resentment etc etc. All you gotta do is unlock your phone for 5 minutes and the likely hood is you will see something that will literally take your power away from where it belongs. It belongs in you. This all happens on a subconscious level, because if we were conscious we would simply not allow the world and the circumstances around us to rob our power.

Do whatever it takes to remain in your power. Whether that could be going for a run, reading uplifting material, meditation, cycling, creating, painting, singing, stretching. You know what you need to do to preserve your energy and live in your joy from moment to moment. W**d out those unhelpful habits, and build upon the healthy ones.
