4 factors to avoid in the first 24-48hrs of injury.

Why?
Heat… causes increase in blood flow = swelling and bleeding

Alcohol… again increase blood flow and can mask pain and severity and could put you at risk of re-injury

Running/exercise… increase in heart rate and blood flow cause blood to accumulate faster. Rest, don’t carry on you need to prevent further damage

Massage… increase blood flow. You need to prevent the tissue being aggravated. It needs time to heal

Your first appointment is more focused on finding out what your problem is and getting a better understanding (initial assessment).

You will receive some treatment but usually the initial assessment takes longer to do.

This is why we have follow up sessions that are more treatment focused.

Hello, I’m Emily and I am a graduate Sport Therapist. I work in a clinic based in Maulden called Manyweathers Chiropractic Clinic.

As a sport therapist I’m qualified in sport massage, injury assessment and rehabilitation.
