I'm exchanging the view from Wild about Story's upstairs bookshop for a drive through the North Pennines, en route to visit Storyteller, Malcolm Green of A Bit Crack Storytelling in the North East.

The bookshop will be tended today by the lovely Pam, who Cedar Farmers may know as she works for Joanne Eddon most Sundays. She will be assisted (and probably distracted) by a lively bunch of puppets that arrived yesterday. Puppet play can bring the written word alive and encourage children to become storytellers, so we have a growing team of Puppet Company finger and hand puppets ready to accompany our quality children's book collection.

You can visit Pam and the Puppets in Wild about Story Bookshop, today 11am - 5 pm

Thank you to the singers who joined us on Sunday for Community Sing in The Garden Temple in Croston. Here is a sn**ch of 'I'm gonna sing...' a medley. It's 'Swing Low Sweet Chariot' combined with 'When the saints go marching in' and a third joyful little song that celebrates singing. We sing easy to learn songs suitable for all ages and singing abilities. It's not about performance, just singing for fun in good company.

Our next gathering is on Sunday 17th September at 7.30 pm, outside around the fire if it's fine or inside the Garden Temple if it's raining. More info and booking from www.wildaboutstory.co.uk

This was Mrs Stanley, ready to tell Stories, Songs & Rhymes at Samlesbury Hall on Monday to a fun group of children. Thank you for coming and I hope some of you will come again. Next week, Mrs Stanley - Storyteller will be telling the story of 'The Scarecrow's Hat' where chicken has a great plan for what to do with Scarecrow's lovely hat, but she has talk to a few animals first.
Come along, 10am on Tuesday to see if her plan works.
