Most people associate the word holistic with something 'woo-woo'🔮
They tend to think crystals, plant-medicine & yoga. And while all these things could be incorporated into your daily routine as part of a holistic approach, they have little to do with what the word actually means in relation to your health.
Holistic health means looking at yourself as a whole, instead of blindly believing that any problem is 'isolated' to one area of the body, one component of your life, or one measure of your health.
Do you realise that how you think about yourself, your goals, and your body influences your habits and patterns around eating and in turn your body's ability to function properly? You cannot separate mind, body and emotions when it comes to whole health.
You are more than what you eat and how many times a week you exercise, and so is your health. Fulfilment, secure relationships and self-love are equally influential on your success, longevity, risk of disease and energy levels as any physical component of your wellbeing. There is nothing 'alternative' about this belief.
True health is holistic. It has physical, emotional and spiritual components that all need to be addressed in a way that is right for you, your body and your lifestyle.
