We got crafty this week, folding pages into adorable book hedgehogs—and they turned out surprisingly effective (and ridiculously cute). Who knew old paperbacks could become such spiky little stars?

🎉☕ Coffee, Cake & Kindness! ☕🎉
We’re thrilled to share that Southwell Court raised £190.10 for Macmillan Cancer Support during our recent coffee morning!

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible families, staff, and residents who baked, brewed, donated, and devoured with gusto. Your generosity and good humour made the day a true celebration of community spirit (and cake crumbs).

Whether you brought a traybake, poured a cuppa, or simply popped in for a giggle—we’re so grateful. Every penny raised helps Macmillan continue their amazing work supporting those affected by cancer. 💚

🍂 A Tree of Thanks at Southwell Court 🌳

This week, our residents got creative with painted leaf prints to build a beautiful Tree of Thanks. Each leaf carries colour, care, and a little message of gratitude—and when it all came together, the result was simply stunning.

Now proudly displayed in our home, it’s a lovely reminder of the joy that grows when we come together. And yes, it looks absolutely amazing! 💛

🍕 Pizza Perfection at Southwell! 🍕

It was all about dough, toppings, and delicious fun! Our residents rolled up their sleeves and got creative in the kitchen during our pizza-making activity—and the results were very tasty indeed 😋

From choosing their favourite ingredients to sharing stories over sizzling slices, the atmosphere was full of laughter, teamwork, and mouthwatering aromas. Activities like these bring so much joy and connection—and a few cheeky extra helpings!

🦎🐍🦉 What a wild day at Southwell Court Care Home!

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Safari Stu and his incredible animal friends—and what an adventure it was! From slithering snakes to curious critters, our residents and staff showed amazing courage, curiosity, and care as they held, stroked, and learned all about these fascinating creatures.

The room was filled with laughter, gasps, and wide-eyed wonder. It wasn’t just educational—it was unforgettable. Huge thanks to Safari Stu for bringing the magic of the animal kingdom right to our doorstep.

🌞 Morning Moves at Southwell Court! 🧘‍♀️🎶

There’s no better way to start the day than with a bit of movement and a lot of smiles! Our residents at Southwell Court kicked off the morning with gentle exercises, stretching— all part of our commitment to keeping minds and bodies active.

Whether it’s chair yoga, resistance bands, or a good old-fashioned singalong with movement, our activities team makes sure every session is fun, inclusive, and tailored to individual needs. The laughter, energy, and sense of togetherness are what make these mornings so special.
