This Sunday, 25th June 2023, we will be having a get together to celebrate all that made Pool Cottage what it was since it opened its doors in 1983.

If you are a former staff member, relative, GP, Nurse or had a connection in some way with the home then please come along to the Melbourne Royal British Legion from 5pm onwards to share your memories 💙

We are very sad to announce that today, Monday 12th June 2023, Pool Cottage has closed its doors for the final time.

A home that has been full of love, laughs, tears and magical moments, finds itself at the end of an era. From all the residents that have spent their best and final days here, to all the staff that have brought an amazing homely feel to the care of the people who are often local, frail and vulnerable, the Home has seen it all.

It is a huge thank you to everyone that has supported Pool Cottage since it was first opened by Mr and Mrs Bellaby in 1983. Without you, none of this would have been possible.

Official Statement

As the management team of Pool Cottage Residential Home, we unfortunately have to deliver the sad news that the Trustees of Melbourne Hall Estate have decided not to renew the Lease of "Pool Cottage" at the end of the current term, which expires at the end of August 2024.

We ask for your support and understanding at this very difficult time; ultimately the welfare and safeguarding of the residents remains paramount.

There will be no further comment from ourselves on social media or in the general media.
