☘️ Happy St Patrick’s Day! ☘️
Today we have been celebrating in true Irish fashion! We enjoyed a lively game of St Patrick’s Day bingo with Mary taking the win, while many of us raised a glass of Guinness and Bailey’s to mark the occasion. 🍀
A big thank you to Cathy who treated us to some wonderful Irish tunes on her violin 🎻, bringing lots of smiles and toe-tapping moments.
Afterwards, we sampled our new spring Apetito menu — and it was absolutely delicious!
Last but not least, we wished Josie, one of our wonderful carers, safe travels as she begins her exciting adventures travelling, starting in Japan. Josie also completed the Bath Half on Sunday, raising an incredible £570 for Alzheimer’s UK — what an amazing achievement! 👏
A fantastic day full of music, laughter, and celebration. 💚

Today was all about celebrating Betty’s incredible 103rd birthday 🎉

Betty enjoyed a wonderful day surrounded by family, friends, and her Mavern family — a truly special celebration for such an amazing lady. What a fabulous age to reach!

Born in Bath in 1923 to Scottish parents, Betty grew up in the West Country. She had hoped to study science at university, but the war intervened, leading her instead to train as a teacher at Bath College of Domestic Science. It was there she discovered a lifelong passion for cooking and became a wonderfully talented cook.

Happy 103rd Birthday, Betty — thank you for sharing your stories, warmth, and wisdom with us all. 💐

This morning all of our lovely ladies received a box of chocolates and a daffodil as a little
Mother’s Day treat 🌼🍫
This afternoon we celebrated with a wonderful Mother’s Day cream tea. It was so lovely to see so many relatives joining us and spending special time together. There were plenty of smiles, chats and sweet treats enjoyed by all.

This afternoon we enjoyed lots of fun and laughter across the home! 🎶

Some of us took part in a few lively games of pong, with Jean coming out as the winner — well done Jean! 🏆 Carl enjoyed a game of mini golf, showing off his skills, while in Pathways we had a lovely sing-a-long to some of our favourite songs, filling the afternoon with music and smiles.

🍀 As part of our Bon Voyage Club Irish travels, we were treated to some fantastic Irish music by Feral Folk. The lively tunes had everyone tapping their feet and enjoying the atmosphere.
Carl especially loved getting involved and happily joined in by playing his drums along with the music. It was wonderful to see everyone smiling, singing along and embracing the spirit of Ireland.🇮🇪☘️💚

This morning Carl enjoyed a lovely trip to the post box to send a very special letter 📮. On the way back, he took time to admire the beautiful flowers in bloom, the wonderful paintings on the post box, and even proudly pointed out Mavern House on the map along the way.

Today we enjoyed a lovely afternoon playing the legendary classic game Family Fortunes with both Residents & staff joined in.🎉

There was plenty of friendly competition as everyone was determined to win. Teams were split into four, and the excitement was high from the very start.
With an impressive 215 points, Team 2 (AHA) Billy, Jade, Phyllis, Syria, Betty & Cynthia took the win and proudly claimed their prizes well done team! 🏆

A fantastic effort from everyone who took part, with some brilliant teamwork shown throughout. Most importantly, it was filled with lots of laughs, fun, and great moments shared together.

This afternoon Jill and Val enjoyed a Baileys while we all took part in a fun memory game, naming different items for certain letters of the alphabet. It certainly got everyone thinking and there were lots of laughs along the way! 😊

We started the day with some seated exercises, keeping our bodies moving and enjoying a good stretch together. This afternoon we headed out to the garden to make the most of the fresh air and sunshine for our Thursday sing-a-long with the lovely Jeannie. 🎶
