GEEKING OUT ON NEW TECH 🤓

It was a pleasure to host the guys from at the studio to check out their saddle force analyser unit.
•
So unlike my gebiomized pressure mat which goes over the saddle this doesn’t interfere with the saddle itself and is fitted between the saddle and clamp - picture 1 and 2 - from here it analyses (in real time) the forces going through the saddle and thus bike, in all directions - picture 3 and 4.
•
I was really curious to see what metrics it would produce and how this data could work as live biofeedback as well as a coaching tool for positioning.
•
I then compared it to my gebiomized system and recorded both at the same time - this was really cool to see how comparable the data was in terms of weight distribution, forces and positioning. Pics 5 and 6 show the comparisons.
•
The system also comes with option of multi-directional power pedals which can produce really detailed metrics on force application through the pedal stroke which is a very interesting tool - we didn’t test them today as I luckily have access to this data already from my Shimano jig but I would definitely like to compare the data between these two sources in the future.
•
All in all a very cool bit of kit that may find its way into the studio at some point as part of our continual drive to deliver the best bike fitting experiences and outcomes we can.

TBTB 2026 Kit Design

It was great to team up with and to help bring my design idea into reality and I’m so happy with what they have created.
•
After skipping a year it was time for a fresh new kit so people can rep TBTB around the country and even the globe - I love getting to see pictures of TBTB jerseys and bottles in some of the far flung places they have travelled to!
•
We will have two jersey options this year - a very race fitted option (PRR) and a more relaxed but still sleek option (Prime). There will be both men’s and women’s versions of both jerseys. There will also be a gilet, long sleeve jersey and bib shorts - again all available in men’s and women’s cuts.
•
I will post up details of the club shop where you can order all the kit very soon. There will be a small opening window for kit to be ordered so it can then go into production and be ready for when the weather is 👌👌🌞😎

I’ve been getting loads of requests to get in some Ryet saddles because of a certain YouTube bike fitter!
•
Are they the amazing magic bullet to saddle comfort? No, probably not.
•
Are they a ludicrously well priced option that might work for you in combination with a good bike fit? Quite possibly, yes.
•
So they are now at the TBTB studio for testing.
•

call it gravel, call it mixed terrain, whatever, maybe just trails - we have to have a more flexible definition of ‘gravel’ here in most of the UK but when you stitch a nice route together without trespassing or being shouted at by farmers it’s 🪄 ✨

Inspiring the Future (hopefully 😬)

It was such a pleasure to be asked to speak at Widcombe Junior School as part of their “inspiring the next generation” day.
•
I really enjoyed sharing my passion for physio and bike fitting, where my journey started and how I got to where I am today.
•
The best bit was all the fascinated faces and great questions - to top it off they were even able to solve the bike fit video quiz at the end 👏 👏
•
We definitely have some next generation bike fitters and physios here 😃😃

A rare visitor. This is AKA Bryan, my physio. He changed my life. I invited him round to choose a jacket. He’s sporting a Ventile Thermal Field. Only our very best! I’ve suffered serious spine & muscular issues since I was a teenager, but love road cycling. He’s a cyclist too, and has an amazing approach to treatment. He asks about my life, we change my bike position, make lifestyle improvements, heck he even got my lifting big weights and showed me good deadlift technique (he has a mini gym as well as all the physio & bike equipment). He is amazing. My physique has changed. My riding has changed. I’m happier. Thinner. Stronger. I’m better now at 52 than 22. Seriously. For that I have Bryan to thank, to a very significant degree. He’s based near Melksham and is worth a commute from LA, frankly. He’s also a smashing chap. Thanks Bryan, enjoy your jacket - I’m sending him a few to check out. FYI, he’s a Small chest but 6’2” tall. Classic skinny racing cyclist. We’ve gone medium for his wider shoulders. Also, as he’s getting a winter jacket, that offers room for layers and adjustment. Lovely to have company. Now, back to Monday morning team meetings! Enjoy your week. Nick ✌️
