SET ME A PLACE AT CHRISTMAS.
The festive season almost here,
And many get to shed a tear.
An absent loved one and absent friend.
A love and grief that never end.
I’m sure they look from above,
Sending greetings and their love.
You may no longer see them, but really they’re still there,
How can they be absent, with all you got to share?
The things that you have been through, the great times you all had.
Remember them with gladness, don’t let things make you sad.
All the laughs and good times, memories to stay,
And those times you spent together, treasure every day.
So, think back on those memories, and do so with a smile,
They’ve simply gone ahead of you, to wait a little while,
So, talk with me involve me, though you cannot see my face,
I’m by your side I promise, at Christmas set a place.
They’ll understand the tears you’ve cried,
The pain you ‘ve gone through deep inside.
But there inside deep in your heart,
They will remain and be a part.
Those memories that you get to keep,
And those dreams that come when you’re asleep.
And come the day you meet again,
With loved ones who are free from pain,
Back with those you did adore,
Back with them for ever more.
