I am saddened to say that last night my dearest client/friend Mr Ralph Harding passed away. At the grand age of 99, he was my oldest client and famous for it.
I have been treating Mr Harding for 18 years, in that time he has become part of my family and me of his. We were often out for lunch after his treatments!
Mr Harding was a hardworking farmer and on retirement he started working as a volunteer at Devizes Hospital, among other tasks he was the person who planted and kept the grounds full of flowers. He was also still playing tennis twice a week.
During Covid he stopped tennis and his volunteer work. That didn’t stop his zest for life and he regularly drove to Cornwall to visit family and continued to be involved in the tennis club.
I last visited Mr Harding in hospital a few days ago, he was as sharp as a button still but we all knew we were saying goodbye. How lucky for him and all of those who knew him to have so many happy, healthy years. He always wanted me to keep him going to 100! We didn’t quite get there but what a fantastic legacy he leaves.
Rest in peace Mr Harding ❤️
