Residents enjoyed a wonderful trip out to The Mind Tree Cafe in Rowde , where they relaxed over tea and a delicious selection of cakes.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, Bron, Saida and Ann had a lovely time chatting and indulging in a sweet treat or two!

We highly recommend the Carrot Cake!

We welcome all members of the community to join us, providing a safe and inviting space for those who would like to make new friends, reconnect, or are just curious about what life here at Blenheim House is like.

Our W***y Wonka Chocolate Extravaganza, on Saturday 23rd August features live music, tea, cakes, sweets and games! All in our beautiful gardens.

What a treat we had recently at Blenheim House!

The incredible White Horse Brass Quartet came to perform for us, and they were absolutely fantastic! Their music filled the garden with energy, smiles, and toe-tapping rhythms.

The highlight of the day? Our very own Wilfred couldn’t resist the beat, getting up with Events Coordinator Vicky it was time to dance!

It brought the biggest smiles to everyone’s faces. It’s moments like these that remind us how powerful music can be.

A huge thank you to the quartet for sharing their talent and joy with us.

This week we had the absolute joy of celebrating Jill’s 101st birthday here at Blenheim House!

Surrounded by her loving family, Jill enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea in the garden, complete with a beautiful spread of cakes, sandwiches prepared by our Kitchen team, and lots of smiles.

It was a special day for a truly special lady, and we’re so honoured to have shared it with her. Here's to Jill and a life well-lived, happy birthday!

Our W***y Wonka Garden Party will take place on Saturday 23rd August, from 2:30pm.

Go wild with sweets galore! fizzy drinks, chocolates, cakes and lots of fun and games, with live music in our beautiful gardens.

Last week, we celebrated a very special birthday for one of our residents, Bronwen. Surrounded by balloons, cake, and familiar faces, Bronbeamed with joy as we sang “Happy Birthday” and shared memories from over the years.

For residents living at Blenheim House, moments like these are incredibly meaningful. The feelings of love, happiness, and connection stay with them. Brontapped along to her favourite songs, smiled as we looked through photo albums, and enjoyed every bite of her favourite sponge cake.

These celebrations are more than just parties, they’re opportunities to bring comfort, familiarity, and joy into our residents’ lives, creating positive emotional experiences that linger long after the candles are blown out.

We were thrilled to welcome one of our favourite local bands to the care home this week End of the Track , bringing with them not only their instruments but also joy, laughter, and plenty of toe-tapping tunes. Residents gathered in the drawing room as familiar melodies filled the air, with many singing along, clapping to the beat, and even dancing in their chairs.

Live music has a remarkable effect on wellbeing, especially for residents living with dementia. Familiar songs can unlock long-forgotten memories, provide comfort, and help people reconnect with their past. We saw eyes light up and smiles spread across faces as the music stirred something deep within, a moment of connection that words alone often can’t achieve.

Events like this remind us how powerful music can be, not just as entertainment, but as a form of therapy, communication, and shared joy. We’re already looking forward to the band’s next visit!
