🍂 Flu & COVID Vaccination Clinics – 1st & 4th October 2025 🍂
It’s time to get prepared for the colder months! We’re offering FREE flu and COVID-19 vaccinations for all eligible groups this autumn. Protect yourself and your loved ones with these essential vaccines.

💉 Flu Vaccine Eligibility:
Over 65s
Pregnant women
Children aged 2-3 years
Anyone aged 6 months to 64 years with a long-term health condition (e.g., asthma, diabetes, heart disease)
Carers
People in long-stay residential care
Health and social care staff
People who are severely immunocompromised
People living with someone who is at high risk of infection

💉 COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility:
All individuals aged 75 and over
Anyone with a weakened immune system or at higher risk of severe illness (e.g., people with certain health conditions, like heart disease or diabetes)
Residents in care homes

Anyone who has been advised by their GP or clinician to get the vaccine

We have started to invite eligible patients.

📱 How to Book: Eligible patients have been contacted via text message or by our team with information on how to book your appointment. If you are not sure or not had chance to book your appointment, then please contact the practice.

💉 Flu Vaccine Eligibility:
Over 65s

SPOTTED: New Nurse in Meltham! A warm welcome to Stacey, our new practice nurse! Stacey will be working alongside our existing nursing team and covers all practice nurse duties including cervical smears.

In September, those who have a negative test result will be notified of this by an NHS App message. It will also appear as an NHS App notification. If the NHS App message isn’t read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a failsafe.

Abnormal result letters will continue for the time being to be delivered by post.

This change follows the successful rollout of digital invitations and reminders in June 2025, where since the launch, 9 out of every 10 invitations are being sent digitally, with the remainder being sent by post.

For help with getting set up with the NHS App, please speak to a member of our admin team.

Re-introducing…. Dr Miller!
Dr Miller has now joined the MGP team as a salaried GP! Lots of our patients will be used to seeing Dr Miller over the last year, as he finished his GP training. I’m sure you will be equally excited as our team with this news! In addition to core GP services, Dr Miller has an interest in joint injections. If you don’t catch him in the practice, then you may see him on his 🚲 in the hills of Meltham!

Locala are providing Summer Immunisation Catch-Up Clinics Across Kirklees. They are Working in close partnership with NHS England. The Immunisation Team has been asked to support catch-up vaccinations for children across Kirklees, starting from reception age (4/5 years) and above.
As part of this initiative, communications have been sent to eligible families, and nine community clinical van sessions will be held throughout the summer. These drop-in clinics will offer the opportunity to review immunisation histories and administer any
outstanding vaccines. Please note that all children living in Kirklees are eligible for this offer.
