Important Update: Changes to Central Connect services in the East Midlands
Central Connect East Midlands will be reducing its local bus operations in the East Midlands from 1 February 2026. You can read the full statement from Central Connect here https://www.central-connect.co.uk/east-midlands-important-update
The affected Leicestershire routes are:
• LCC2 (Melton Mowbray to Bottesford)
• 93 (Grantham to Bottesford, Bingham and Nottingham)
• 2X (2N) (Loughborough to Leicester)

Leicestershire County Council has been actively managing the situation and working to minimise disruption for passengers since the announcement.

LC2 Melton – Bottesford
The LC2 service operated by Central Connect falls within FoxConnect Zone 1. To support passengers transitioning to FoxConnect, Leicestershire County Council has funded an additional bus within Zone 1. From 26 January 2026, Centrebus will expand its fleet in Zone 1 to accommodate LC2 passengers. Please note that LC2 will cease to operate with effect from 31st Jan 2026. Passenger notices will be displayed at bus stops and on buses next week. Passenger information handouts about FoxConnect will also be available on board.

93 Grantham –Nottingham
As this is a cross-boundary service, we are currently in discussions with Lincolnshire County Council regarding options for this route. A further update will be provided as soon as it’s available.

2N/2X Loughborough – Leicester
Alternative services are available Kinchbus 2 and Centrebus 24, 24A
