NOTIFICATION
With deep regret, I have made the decision today that Melton Mowbray PhysioPlus will be withdrawing from Aviva’s Practitioner Network. Effective immediately.

Unfortunately, Aviva’s newly published Physiotherapy fees
(1 September 2025) at £55 for Initial consultation and £45 for follow-ups do not align with the practice’s operational structure and limits my ability to offer the level of care and consistency my patients rely on.

For anyone who looks at their 3,000 steps by dinnertime and just gives up – this one's for you.

Alright, let's talk about the magic number: 10,000 steps.

For years, it's been the gold standard we all chase.

But what if I told you it might not be the be-all and end-all?

On the latest , we did a deep dive into the research, and I was genuinely surprised by what we found.

One massive study in The Lancet looked at nearly 50,000 people and found that for older adults (over 60), the real sweet spot for lowering mortality risk was between 6,000 and 8,000 steps a day.

For the younger folks (under 60), it was between 8,000 and 10,000.

Going beyond that? The study showed there wasn't much extra benefit.

It's actually a huge relief to know you don't have to hit that big 10k number to be doing yourself a world of good.

So if you're struggling to get there, don't beat yourself up! You're probably doing better than you think.

So grateful we get to explore this stuff and share it with you all.

Have a listen on Podcast tomorrow when it drops and let me know if this changes how you see your daily walk!
