Post and information from Breckland Family Hub 👇

🌟 New SEND Parent Carer Café at Thetford Family Hub! 🌟

We’re excited to share that a brand-new Parent Carer Café is starting at the Thetford Family Hub – a friendly space run by volunteer parents, for parents. 💛

📅 Every 2nd week of the month (starting Wednesday 10th September)

🕐 1:15pm – 2:30pm

📍 Thetford Family Hub -IP24 3DY

What to expect:

✨ A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere

✨ A chance to meet and chat with other families

✨ A craft table for some creative fun

✨ Snack time together (bring your own snacks!)

This is a free session, but spaces are limited so you must book via either emails.

If you need more info, just call the Family Hub team - 01362 654584

A few things to know:

🚗 Parking is available, but spaces can fill quickly – it’s best to park on the road outside.

☕ Please note: no hot drinks in the session.

🧹 As this café is run by volunteers, it would be lovely if everyone could lend a hand with tidy up at the end.

💬 Hub staff will be on hand if you’d like a private chat – a room can be booked if needed.

Whether you come with or without your child/young person, you will always find a warm welcome. 💕

Please remember to be mindful of each other’s differences and needs – this is a safe and supportive space for all.

We can’t wait to see you there! 🌈

💬 Share your thoughts with us!

We here at Family Voice Norfolk are undertaking some forward planning and we would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on how we can best ‘hear your voices’.

We’d like to know what topics you’d like to learn more about. How do you like to share your thoughts with us? Do you like short surveys, the opportunity to send an email, an online catch-up session or would you welcome face-to-face opportunities again?

To share your thoughts, please drop us a line or two at: membership@familyvoice.org.uk
As always, your voices and your experiences are important, they matter. We, in turn, can make them matter to services so please do keep talking to us, sharing the good, the bad and the sometimes ugly we all experience on occasion. Together we can make a difference to SEND in Norfolk.

Thank you!

Important Update on Mediation and Disagreement Resolution (MDR) Services in Norfolk.

The provider of MDR services has changed. The new provider is Anglia Care Trust (ACT) Mediation Service, which will continue offering high-quality, impartial support to families.

More information in the post below and here 👉 https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/article/40688/Mediation-and-tribunals

Important Update on Mediation and Disagreement Resolution (MDR) Services in Norfolk.

The provider of MDR services has changed. The new provider is Anglia Care Trust (ACT) Mediation Service, which will continue offering high-quality, impartial support to families.

What you need to know

▪ If you already have an open case with the previous provider KIDS, it will continue to be handled by them until your case is resolved. There will be no disruption.

▪ From 1 September 2025, all new MDR cases will be supported by ACT.

▪ The process and level of support will stay the same. Whether your case is with KIDS or ACT, you’ll receive the same trusted, impartial help to navigate disagreements and find a way forward.

This change is about continuing to provide the best possible support for families. The service remains voluntary, free, and focused on your needs.

The provider of the service has changed because Norfolk County Council has recommissioned the contract. It’s normal for councils to review and update service contracts regularly.

If you have any questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out.
