A festive community event at a Melton Mowbray care home raised funds for a charity which supports children with critical illnesses.

We're ready for Christmas here at The Amwell after our first annual Christmas Market! 🎄✨️💕

We’re so proud of how successful the day was in support of Make-A-Wish UK, and even more delighted to see how much our residents enjoyed it. From the lovely stalls and festive atmosphere to a special visit from Santa, the fantastic The Melton Band who were absolutely incredible and truly set the tone for the day! As well as a very warm welcome to the Mayor of Melton Mowbray, Siggy Atherton! It was a day full of Christmas cheer, and an excellect way to spend the day before the big man in red arrives...although we had a special visit from Father Christmas during the festivities! 🎅🎺

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, supported, donated, and joined us with their stalls each of you helped make the day so special. 💙

Raffle winners and the total amount raised will be confirmed on Monday, so please keep an eye out for our update! 🎟️✨🎄

Today we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Welly's Work Place with Sunny Skies Enterprise C.I.C to The Amwell Care Home for a fun-filled festive day! Our visitors enjoyed arts & crafts, Christmas card making, cinema fun, a tasty buffet, and even made great use of the gym! 🎨🎬🍽️💪

It was a wonderful opportunity to build positive connections within our community, share smiles, and create special memories together. ❤️

We can’t wait to welcome Wellys Workplace back again soon! ✨

Give life some Welly, we certainly did today, amazing energy all day!

✨ A Moment of Magic at The Amwell ✨

Today, we were reminded of the incredible power of music as one of our lovely residents sat down at the piano and played so beautifully. 🎹💛

Music has a remarkable way of reaching parts of the heart and memory that words sometimes can’t.

For many living with dementia, familiar melodies can spark joy, calmness, connection and moments like this are truly emotive and special, and makes us all realise how lucky we are to care for these incredible, talented individuals.

At The Amwell, we treasure these moments and the smiles they bring. 💖

Our residents enjoyed a fun no-bake cheesecake session, filled with smiles, teamwork, and delicious results 💛🍰
