Today the residents at Amwell Care Home were joined by the wonderful children from Oasis Preschool and Retreat Oasis Preschool & SEND Retreat for Gardening Club sharing smiles, stories, and a love of nature across generations 🌼🪴

Moments like these show exactly why spaces like the Oasis' Retreat for children with Special Educational Needs are so vital. They provide safe, nurturing environments where children with additional needs can thrive, build confidence, form friendships, and be part of their wider community 🤝💛

Sadly, Leicestershire County Council has plans to close the Oasis SEND Retreat, along with other SEND nurseries across the county. This would remove essential support for families who rely on these specialist services. SEND provision isn’t a luxury, it’s a lifeline.

🌟 THREE MARATHONS. ONE MONTH. ONE AMAZING CAUSE! 🌟

This February, we’re taking on the Three Marathon Challenge for Make-A-Wish UK Make-A-Wish UK 💙
That’s 3 miles a day – walking, running, cycling or swimming – all adding up to 3 full marathons in one month! 💪✨

And to celebrate the final stretch, we’re finishing together with a 10k walk at The Amwell on 28th February at 11am 🎉

🎈⚽ Fun and fitness go hand in hand at Amwell Care Home! ⚽️🎈

Our residents enjoyed a lively gym session with balloon and ball games, putting smiles on faces and movement into every moment. These gentle activities help improve coordination, mobility, and confidence, while also supporting mental health and wellbeing.

For those living with dementia, playful movement can spark joy, reduce anxiety, encourage social connection, and stimulate memory in a relaxed, pressure-free way. Most importantly, it reminds everyone that staying active can be fun at any age 💙

Because at Amwell, we always put fun, fitness, and wellbeing first!

🎄✨ What an incredible day! ✨🎄

The first annual Christmas Market at The Amwell was a huge success, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along and supported us. Together, we raised an amazing £216.11 for Make-A-Wish UK

A big congratulations to our raffle winners of the boujee sweet box - 762 - and the tasting for two at Dickinson and Morris - 792 - we hope you enjoy your treats! Just pop in to reception to retrieve your prize! 🎁

Thank you all for making it such a special event. We already can’t wait for next year! Now to say goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026 as a team! ❤️

We're ready for Christmas here at The Amwell after our first annual Christmas Market! 🎄✨️💕

We’re so proud of how successful the day was in support of Make-A-Wish UK, and even more delighted to see how much our residents enjoyed it. From the lovely stalls and festive atmosphere to a special visit from Santa, the fantastic The Melton Band who were absolutely incredible and truly set the tone for the day! As well as a very warm welcome to the Mayor of Melton Mowbray, Siggy Atherton! It was a day full of Christmas cheer, and an excellect way to spend the day before the big man in red arrives...although we had a special visit from Father Christmas during the festivities! 🎅🎺

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, supported, donated, and joined us with their stalls each of you helped make the day so special. 💙

Raffle winners and the total amount raised will be confirmed on Monday, so please keep an eye out for our update! 🎟️✨🎄
