Today we had to give in to the naughty elves ransom request to release our beloved DANW bear! π The office wasnβt the same without him.
The elves are happily eating our chocolates, the bear is free and they have even decided to let him join the victory party as a gesture of goodwill! π₯°π₯³

Last week was International Day of Persons with Disabilities π (3rd December 2025) and this month is UK Disability History Month which both aim to promote inclusion and accessibility for all. β
π Driving can be more challenging with a disability but there are a range of driving aids and adaptations to overcome these difficulties! π
Having a disability shouldnβt exclude you from driving. Our friendly team of Occupational Therapists and Approved Driving Instructors are here to support your independence and help you to identify safe and comfortable driving solutions. π
If you or someone you know has a disability and may benefit from an adaptation assessment, get in touch with us on 0300 300 1100 π

We are a Driving Mobility accredited regional driving assessment service, which is operated by Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and supported by the Department for Transport (DfT). The service is one of only 4 NHS operated driving assessment centres in the UK and has been in operation for over 26 years, being previously known as Wrightington Mobility Centre, and based at Wrightington hospital.
Our main centre is based in Haydock, Merseyside, although we also operate outreach services within the Liverpool and Lancashire area, which enables us to see our clients in areas closer to their own homes.
The North West Driving Assessment Service team consists of 6 Occupational Therapists, 3 Approved Driving Instructors and 2 Administrators. We undertake assessments and provide advice on all aspects of driving, vehicle adaptations, vehicle access and loading and stowage of mobility equipment in a vehicle. Assessments and advice with regards to motorised mobility scooter suitability are also available at our centre.
The service also undertake assessments and provide advice for specialist car seats and harnesses for disabled children. We are also the North West providers for the Bugzi service which is owned and operated by Meru charity.
Referrals to our service are accepted from the DVLA, Motability, Doctors and Health Professionals, at no cost to the client. We also accept self-referrals and referrals from Case Mangers and Solicitors which incur additional charges.
For any more information about the service, please contact us on:01942 483713.
