A confident and in‑demand speaker, Carys is known for demystifying even the “trickiest” legal subjects. Although Saint David’s Day has passed, the celebrations continued at Case-UK with a special treat — Kelly Lewis kindly baked delicious homemade Welsh cakes for the team to enjoy

It was a wonderful way to start the week, bringing everyone together over a traditional favourite and continuing to honour Welsh culture in the workplace.

At Case-UK, we are proud to recognise the importance of the Welsh language and traditions. As part of this commitment, our Contact Centre team is actively developing their Welsh language skills to strengthen our relationship with the communities we serve.

It’s not just one day that keeps our traditions alive, but the way we continue them together, every day.

Today, we were proud to host the Inside Out Support Wales / Cefnogaeth Tu Fewn Tu Fas Cymru Partnership Network Event at the Case‑UK office — an incredibly powerful day bringing together voices from across justice, wellbeing, and community support sectors.

We heard from incredible speakers across the sector who shared meaningful insights, data, and deeply personal lived‑experience stories about the challenges faced by people leaving custody — and the transformational impact of the right support at the right time.

Our Speakers & Their Powerful Contributions:

🟣Emma Hanford (Case‑UK)

Opened the event by sharing how Case‑UK is committed to creating safe, accessible spaces where individuals feel seen, heard, valued, and supported. Emma also highlighted our partnership with The BUSY Group UK | The BUSY Group and our focus on relational support, mental health, employability pathways, and lived‑experience‑led services.

🟣Kate Holly (Yoga For Health)

Delivered an incredible session on the role of yoga in secure settings — showing how breathwork, grounding, and movement can support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and help individuals reconnect with themselves.

🟣 Selima Bahadur (Ethnic Minorities and Youth Support Team Wales)

Shared vital research on racial trauma and disparities within the justice system, including the striking overrepresentation of minority ethnic groups in custody. Her insights from the “Do You See My Trauma?” report highlighted the deep mental health impact of racism and the urgent need for systemic change.

🟣 Richard Bayford(Inside Out Support Wales)

Gave a deeply moving account of his lived experience and how meaningful support enabled him to rebuild his life. His journey shows the power of being met with compassion rather than judgment.

🟣Jermaine (Inside Out Support Wales)

Shared his story of reflection, growth, and transformation following a custodial sentence during the pandemic. Today, he runs his own fitness business "Limitless Lift Off" and mentors young people — proof of what’s possible when individuals are empowered with the right guidance.

Key Themes from the Day:

🟣Mental health and wellbeing must be prioritised before employment.

🟣Lived experience is crucial in shaping truly effective support.

🟣Racial disparities remain a significant issue that must be addressed proactively.

🟣Early intervention and trauma‑informed practice change life trajectories.

🟣Collaboration is key — no single organisation can create change alone.

💜 Thank You

A huge thank you to all our speakers, partners, and attendees.

Today was a powerful reminder that change is possible when organisations work together with empathy, courage, and purpose.

Ramadan is the holiest month observed by Muslims worldwide.

It is a time of fasting from dawn until sunset, deep spiritual reflection, and a stronger connection with family, friends and community. Ramadan also teaches patience, empathy and compassion — values that resonate far beyond the month itself.

As many in our communities practice daily fasting and evening gatherings to break their fasts, we stand alongside you with respect and care.

From all of us at Case‑UK part of The BUSY Group UK | The BUSY Group , we wish peace, strength and heartfelt blessings throughout this sacred month.

✨Ramadan Mubarak✨

Wellbeing Matters – Month One: Kindness & Connection

At Case-UK part of The BUSY Group UK | The BUSY Group, we know that supporting people into employment isn’t just about processes and paperwork - it’s about people. It’s about empathy, encouragement, and the everyday conversations that make a real difference.

That’s why each month we’ll be introducing a wellbeing theme, recognising the incredible work happening across our local Job Centres and showing our appreciation to the fantastic Work Coaches who go above and beyond.

💜 This month’s theme is Kindness & Connection.

Kindness can be as simple as a listening ear. Connection can be the conversation that helps someone believe in themselves again. Work Coaches demonstrate both, every single day.

To say thank you, we’ll be delivering small tokens of appreciation to some of our Work Coaches in local Job Centres - a small gesture to recognise the huge impact they make.

We’re proud to work alongside such dedicated professionals!

Here’s to spreading a little extra kindness this month.

Reflecting on Children’s Mental Health Week, one message stands out: children sense far more than we realise.

Creating places where children feel safe, supported and emotionally held starts with how we feel.

A child’s “place” can be many things:

🟣their home
🟣their school
🟣their group of friends
🟣their local community

But the real foundation of that place is the adult connection they rely on every day.

Children naturally tune in to our tone, our stress levels, and the atmosphere we create — even when we think we’re hiding it.

That’s why supporting adult mental health is one of the most powerful ways to support children’s mental health.

At Case‑UK, part of The BUSY Group UK | The BUSY Group, we regularly hear from participants about how much a Mental Health Coach has helped them feel calmer, more grounded, and more able to connect with their children.

Even a few months of the right support can lift pressure, rebuild confidence and help families feel more secure again.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed or struggling to cope, Able Futures is here to help.

You don’t have to manage alone.

Celebrating the People Behind the Purpose

Staff Excellence Awards Across Health 2 Employment, OH One - Occupational Health, Case-UK and The BUSY Group UK

Today, we celebrated something truly special — the very first The BUSY Group Awards in the UK.

A chance to pause, come together, and recognise the people who embody our values, drive our mission, and quietly make extraordinary things happen every day.

Congratulations to all our award winners:

🟣Unsung Team Award – Contact Centre Team

Our Contact Centre has been the steady backbone throughout 2025 — supporting new contracts, meeting consistently high standards, and keeping everything moving behind the scenes.

A team that embodies reliability, consistency, and quiet excellence.

🟣Unsung Hero Award – Karen Powell

Karen is the definition of a brilliant, supportive leader — someone who lifts others while consistently delivering exceptional work herself.

Throughout 2025, she has been the steady driving force behind the Contact Centre’s success: building processes, guiding new starters, strengthening systems, and supporting colleagues across teams with calm, capability, and care.

🟣Unbounded Possibilities Award – Philip Jackson Taft

A visionary leader whose clinical expertise and operational leadership helped shape OH One - Occupational Health from concept to nationally recognised service.

Philip’s contribution reflects courage, innovation, and the belief that we can always do more for the people we support.

🟣Team of the Year – Access to Work Health 2 Employment Team

A shining example of excellence, resilience, and compassion.
Despite significant change, the team continued to perform exceptionally, strengthened peer support, and delivered life-changing mental health support for participants across the UK.

🟣Martin Punch Award – Chelcie Bentvelzen

A meaningful recognition honouring the founder of the Busy Group.

Through Chelcie's work with learners in alternative provision, she has built trust, safety, and hope for young people who need it most — and for their families.
A powerful reminder that small actions can transform futures.

🟣Leader of the Year – Claire Mitchell-Lowe from Health 2 Employment

Leadership isn’t a title — it’s influence.
Claire has consistently demonstrated vision, integrity, and excellence, guiding teams through transformation, strengthening systems, and inspiring trust across the organisation.

A Closing Message from Rhys Morris FIEP:

"To everyone: thank you for your dedication, resilience and impact — often quiet, often unseen, always meaningful.

Your commitment to our purpose, to each other, and to the communities we serve is what makes this organisation extraordinary.

We look forward to continuing this as an annual celebration, honouring the people who bring our mission to life every single day."

Small conversations. Big impact. Let’s talk — today and every day.

A simple check‑in can mean more than we realise.

Today reminds us to pause, listen, and make space for real conversations — not just the quick “I’m fine.” Ask the question that matters: “How are you, really?”

Small chats can spark big change.

Let’s make talking about mental health part of everyday working life — not just today.

One conversation can make a lasting difference.
