Last week, we held our annual Older Persons Christmas Meal, where more than 80 Community Living residents and members of the wider community came together to enjoy a festive three-course lunch at Morlais Golf Club.

The day was filled with live entertainment, raffles, and a classic game of Turkey Bingo.If you’re a member of the wider community aged 50 or over and would like to learn more about the events offered throughout the year by the Community Living team, please get in touch.

A huge thank you to Chris O’Brien for the great music and Morlais Castle Golf Club for their hospitality.

As our Swansea Road development moves forward, we’re excited to share an update on the Community Benefits programme. Thanks to your fantastic ideas, we’re making our community shine even brighter.

Together with our contractors JG Hale Group Ltd, we’ve used some of the project’s community benefits to bring in some amazing recycled-metal sculptures. You might have already spotted these eye-catching pieces popping up around the community.

A huge shoutout to the brilliant Eco Committee at Coed Y Dderwen School! Their fun and informative videos about the insects and animals represented in the sculptures will be available via links on the signage, so keep an eye out as you explore.

To help us connect with our Polish community, our Membership Team - alongside the brilliant CLWB CROWN hosted our very first MVH Traditional Polish Christmas Party. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate all the traditions our Polish families hold dear.

The event was truly heart-warming. It was fantastic to see so many families singing, dancing, and enjoying their favourite traditions. Father’s Christmas even made a special appearance with gift bags full of toys and chocolates for the little ones!

A massive thank you to all our amazing tenants for joining us, to The CLWB CROWN for being the perfect hosts (and having such a brilliant team!),Dj Cudak and Magda Lena for entertaining us all, and to Fresh Dill Koperek Arkadiusz Skwarczynski for generously providing toys and raffle prizes.

As 2025 comes to a close, we went out with a bang, our final paint scheme of the year was a big one! We saved 208 litres of paint from landfill, and saved tenants a total cost of £2,863.81.

Taryn would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us for a festive afternoon. Keep your eyes peeled for more paint schemes coming your way in the new year! Check out the last picture to see how one of our members has been using their paint.

Huge thanks also goes to Craig at Crown Paints UK Cardiff and Tony from Crown Paint Swansea for their fantastic donations for this month’s scheme.
