Ten Years

Wow it was ten years ago today that I qualified as a Hypnotherapist. The cohort I qualified with, were one of the nicest bunch of people I'd ever met, and our tutors were amazing. 🤩😍

Sadly, one of our cohort is no longer with us. He sadly passed away a few weeks ago. So this picture is a little bitter sweet.

But the success I've had with Hypnosis in clinic is phenomenal.

Goodbye

Today marked the last day of Shen Holistics after over 13 years. It's very poignant as I reflect on the early days at Body2Fit Physiotherapy at Wynyard, the journey to Acklam Hall, and where I am now.

But it's time for change, and tomorrow begins a new chapter. Yes I am very aware tomorrow is April Fool's Day, but this is no joke, this is serious stuff.

Tomorrow the new name for this page will be revealed, and I am going to be changing how I operate the Acupuncture and Cupping therapy services.

I am really excited to begin this new era, and I'd like to thank everyone for supporting me over the years and keeping me in business. I really appreciate it. But that's it from Shen Holistics, I am officially signing off.

✨ Price Increase Announcement ✨

There will be a price increase from 1st March 2025, for new Acupuncture patients. This is due to the continuous rising costs as well as the general running of a small business, we have had to adapt to these rising costs and increase our pricing for all new patients.

We completely appreciate that we are all feeling the pinch due to the rising costs of living, so we will still aim to keep the costs of our services competitive and at an affordable price so you can still enjoy your self care.

New patient Acupuncture appointments will now be up to 90 minutes, as this gives us time to ensure we can give you the best possible comprehensive service.

We hope you can all understand, now and forever we appreciate your continued loyalty & support! 💛

If you have any questions on prices please don’t hesitate to message or call. New pricing will be in effect as of Saturday 1st March 2025.

**Please note that if you have not been seen in clinic within the last 12 months, you will be classed as a new patient.

🌸❄️ Snowdrops ❄️🌸

Officially the 2nd February signals the end of the festive period, and the 3rd February is the beginning of Spring. (Li Chun), as well as being the start of the new Solar year which is when the new annual Feng Shui cycle commences.

So it feels appropriate that Snowdrops are the first signs of Spring, and they are just starting to appear.

Just like these beautiful little flowers pushing through the snow and hard ground. We're reminded that fresh starts and new beginnings, can be difficult but they are always on the horizon. In both nature and business, growth often starts small, quietly unfolding before it bursts into something big.

As we embrace the early signs of growth, let’s also reflect on the opportunities ahead — whether it’s refining our goals, starting new projects, or building on the momentum we’ve already created. 🌱

Here’s to the season of renewal and fresh beginnings!

Decluttering

Apparently 2025 is a huge decluttering year, which I love! So let’s get started. Yes I know it means possible landfill 🤦‍♂️ But we can recycle ♻️ and donate to charity, plus car boots and yard sales. Remember your trash is someone else's treasure. ☺️

Happy Winter Solstice

This is something Acupuncturists have been worried about for years. We see people doing a weekend course or a one day course for £39, and they think they can learn Acupuncture.

We have seen people get a collapsed lung or the pericardium has been pierced, or even die from Acupuncture. So the media screams it's dangerous, when actually those cases were from people doing the short courses. Not actual Acupuncturists.

So the bottom line is, official Acupuncturists have done a three year degree course and passed. The degree course is similar to a Physiotherapist, with added Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture modules.

Remember it's okay for you to ask the 'Acupuncturist' or whoever is doing it, if they did a short course or the full degree in Acupuncture. Then make your decision whether you trust them with needles!

One last point...if you'll pardon the pun. Dry Needling is Acupuncture without the full knowledge or training in Chinese Medicine. So don't get confused when you see it being offered. Usually, Dry Needling occured when people say Acupuncture didn't work for them. It wasn't Acupuncture they had, it was Dry Needling.
