🌿 Why Employees Should Attend Mental Health First Aid Training 🌿

As organisations strive to build healthier, more supportive cultures, Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA) training is becoming one of the most impactful investments they can make.

Here’s why mental health first aid matters more than ever:

✅ Spot early signs – Recognise stress, burnout, anxiety, and crisis.
✅ Have confident conversations – Approach mental health with empathy and care.
✅ Build a safer workplace – Reduce stigma and foster trust.
✅ Boost wellbeing & engagement – Supported employees thrive.
✅ Make a difference – Be the person who helps someone in their toughest moment.

🌟 Empower your teams. Strengthen your culture. Prioritise mental health in your organisation.

📅 Upcoming Teesside Mind MHFA training:
• Fri 24 Apr & Mon 27 Apr 2026 – two‑day Mental Health First Aid Course in Middlesbrough.

We’re proud to be working with Parkway Medical Centre to help shine a light on unpaid carers 💛

There are currently 359 unpaid carers on their register, aged 15 to 80+—and thanks to simple but effective outreach like text messages and registration forms, 60 hidden carers have now been identified and supported.

The practice is also making sure carers are recognised in hospital referrals, helping ensure the right support is in place when it matters most.

We recently delivered carer awareness training to the team, with plans for all new staff to receive this as part of their induction 💙

A great example of how raising awareness can make a real difference for carers in our community 💬

Claire is one of the passionate Peer Support Workers on our Mutual Minds team.

She was drawn to peer support because she wanted to be there for others—someone who can genuinely listen, understand, and offer empathy. Over time, she has supported people facing mental health challenges, helping them feel heard, valued, and reminded that there is hope ahead.

Drawing on her own lived experience, Claire provides support in a way that feels personal and authentic—whether that’s joining someone for a walk, sharing a coffee, or offering encouragement before an appointment. Her goal is always to walk alongside people, not to fix, but to be a supportive presence every step of the way.

💬 About Mutual Minds
Mutual Minds is our peer support service. Our team uses their own lived experience to listen, understand, and offer safe, non-judgemental support—helping you take positive steps forward, at your own pace.

As the event gets closer, we’re celebrating the incredible organisations who help make it happen 💙

We’re especially proud to highlight Five Rivers who joined us at last year’s event and saw a truly heartwarming outcome. Following Bark in the Park 2025, someone who connected with them on the day has now begun their fostering journey—an amazing example of how community events can inspire life-changing decisions 🏡✨

Their dedication to creating safe, supportive homes for children and young people aligns closely with our mission to improve mental health and wellbeing across our communities.

📢 CALLING ALL PARENTS 📢

Want to bring something unforgettable to your child’s school this year?

Our colour runs are packed with fun, energy, and excitement — a day your children will be talking about long after the paint has washed off! Not only that, they help raise awareness of positive mental health in a way that’s engaging, uplifting, and meaningful. 🎨

And the best part? It’s completely FREE for schools.

We also support schools with:
🌈 Year 6 transition support
🌈 Wellbeing assemblies
🌈 Helpful mental health resources for parents and children

Last year, we supported over 32,000 local people — including more than 5,000 children — and we’d love to reach even more this year.

If you’d love your child’s school to be part of this amazing experience, tag them in the comments 👇 or share this post with them!
