👣 Don’t Wait in Pain — Nail Surgery Available Now

Painful ingrown toenail? Ongoing infection? Recurrent problems?

At Teesside Podiatry Clinic, nail surgery is something we do regularly — it’s a routine part of our clinical work, not an occasional procedure.

All surgeries are carried out:

✔ Under local anaesthetic
✔ In a fully sterile clinical environment
✔ Following strict infection control protocols
✔ By SJ our clinical lead podiatrist who performs nail surgery frequently

We provide:

• Partial nail avulsion
• Total nail avulsion
• Phenolisation OR Sodium Hydroxide (with or without) depending on clinical need

Where appropriate, phenolisation or NaOH helps prevent regrowth of the problematic nail edge and offers a long-term success rate.

Why wait months?

NHS waiting lists can be lengthy, especially when cases are not deemed urgent.

If you’re in pain now, you don’t need to wait.

✅ We offer a nail surgery suitability appointment

This allows us to assess the nail properly, answer your questions, and make sure surgery is the right option for you.

If you choose to proceed, a deposit is taken to secure your nail surgery appointment.

The skin in the largest organ in the body and our feet have an incredible job and yet we neglect them as they are so far away for us to see. Ever wondered why the skin on your feet feels so different? 👣

🚨 DID YOU KNOW - The epidermis on your feet actually contains an additional layer compared to the rest of the body - the Stratum Lucidum

The skin on the soles of your feels thicker, tougher, and is built to handle pressure, friction, and impact all day long. Unlike the rest of your body, it doesn’t produce oil—just sweat—so it can get dry more easily. Plus, those unique ridges help with grip and balance.

Every aspect of your feet are basically engineered for walking. Pretty impressive when you think about it.

👣 HERE IS A SIMPLE FOOT CARE ROUTINE FOR YOU TO TRY:

If your feet get dry, rough or cracked, here’s a no-fuss routine that actually works:

🧴 Daily: Apply a heel balm like Dermatonics or Restorate Foot Cream (10-25% urea) to deeply hydrate and soften hard skin. We have sprays and creams for ease

🪨 2–3x a week: Gently use a fine foot emery board (NO GRATERS, NO PUMICE STONE - these can be harsh and cause cracks to split; as well as causing issues for those with diabetes)

🌙 Night boost: Apply cream, ideally after showering, bathing or a luxurious foot soak 💤… then immediately apply bamboo or cotton socks overnight to lock in moisture.

💡Get feet checked by the professionals… not all flaky/ cracked skin is a simple hydration issue… thyroid problems, medications, skin disorders and health conditions can impact skin integrity. Sometimes antifungals are required instead of moisturiser!

Consistency beats complexity — your feet just need a bit of regular care to stay soft and healthy.
