‼️Mounjaro (weight loss injections) - update for patients ‼️

Thinking about Mounjaro (tirzepatide) injections for weight loss?
Heard you can now get them from the NHS?

The ICB (Integrated Care Board) have been tasked by NHS England with providing these in GP practices by 23rd June.

But…
Only for very specific groups of patients with a number of particular health conditions - estimated to only be a handful of patients in each practice.

And…
The details of how GPs will be able to provide these injections have still not been agreed.

So…
Please don’t make an appointment about Mounjaro yet - we are very likely to have to disappoint.
[We will contact eligible patients if and when we are able to provide Mounjaro / We will provide further information on our website and other channels if and when we are able to provide Mounjaro.]

Also…
Even when details of how GPs can provide Mounjaro have been agreed, we will need to arrange training and set up clinics, which will take time.

We want to help as many patients as we can, but are limited by the plans of the ICB based on NHS England requirements.

Summary:
Please help us to help you - we will tell you as soon as we can help you with Mounjaro, so please don’t make appointments about this right now.

We have a 23-30 hour permanent Reception/Administrator vacancy available, please note in your application your availability and preferred hours.

Hours will be incorporated over 5 days and between the hours of 8am-6pm.

No experience necessary as full training will be given, but admin/customer service experience is preferred.

We are a busy surgery in central Middlesbrough, and no two days are the same, so if you are good at time keeping and multitasking, have excellent communication skills and enjoy variety, then this is the job for you.

❌In January 2025 we had 261 appointments wasted due to patients not attending their PREBOOKED appointments, this only increases the wait time to see a doctor or nurse ‼️

Please be mindful of this when your given the next available appointment date, and make sure you cancel your appointment if you don't need it, you can cancel up to 1 hour in advance ☎️🗣

If you miss more than 4 appointments in a 12 month period, you will be sent a warning letter, and risk being removed from the practice list if you miss any further appointments without notice📝

In addition to GPs, General Practice teams can include nurses, physiotherapists, clinical pharmacists, mental health practitioners, paramedics, social prescribing link workers, and health and wellbeing coaches. The Reception Team is trained to discuss your medical concern thoroughly and confidentially, so you can be seen by the right health professional for your situation.

If you need to see a GP you will always be offered an appointment, but there may be other health professionals who can provide the most appropriate support.

Sadly we have had to make the decision to close the surgery at 4pm today, we will re-open at 8am tomorrow morning. In the event of an emergency please ring 999 or 111 after 4pm as our phone lines will not be available.
