She is currently a student teacher, studying her level 4 National Diploma in Teaching Yoga with the British Wheel of Yoga. Amy's classes provide space to cultivate a gentle and nourishing practice that allows students an opportunity to balance out their busy lives and minds. She is passionate about mental and physical health. Her own experience of using yoga as a tool for self-care has dramatically improved her life. It has been a central support system in combating stress and tackling mental health conditions. Amy is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga. Her primary aim is to support students with techniques they can use in daily life to help with overall well-being. What to expect
Amy adopts a creative and down to earth teaching style. Using asana and breathwork practices, her classes encourage the gentle opening of the body and calm the mind. A standard class will consist of a short centring exercise to relax the body and mind. Here we bring the attention to the breath. We then gradually warm up the joints and muscles before practising the main sequence designed to stretch, strengthen and open the body. Incorporated into every session is a 15-minute relaxation, an integral part of the practice that allows integration, rest and reset. Classes are designed with all bodies in mind. Ahimsa or non harming is a fundamental yogic principle and the foundation for Amy's classes. Please remember to act with compassion towards yourself, others and your surroundings whilst attending. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the class is scheduled to start. This allows time to set up your practice space without disturbing others. Wear comfortable clothing that will enable you to move freely. It is always nice to have extra layers for your relaxation. Bring a mat, blanket and water bottle to class.
