“I was given an appointment that suited my work schedule and the admin team were lovely and accommodating. I had oral surgery with Mr Hawkings – he is a lovely professional man who put me at ease and made the whole procedure less scary. The theatre team Jo, Steph and Denny really looked after me. I was super scared and Jo held my hand all the way through – I am extremely grateful. My recovery staff Erika and Demi were lovely and gave me lots of information. 🌟 Welcoming Our New Consultant: Mr Andrea Volpin 🌟

We are delighted to introduce Mr Andrea Volpin, Trauma & Orthopaedics Consultant, who has recently joined Tees Valley Hospital.

Mr Volpin brings extensive expertise in sports knee injuries, ligament reconstruction, patellofemoral disorders, and joint preservation techniques including PRP therapy, viscosupplementation, osteotomy, and advanced cartilage restoration procedures such as microfracture, OATS, and MACI.

With a distinguished medical background from the University of Padua, Italy, and advanced specialist training at University College London Hospitals and King’s College Hospital, Mr Volpin has also completed two prestigious fellowships in complex knee surgery and joint arthroplasty.

👨‍⚕️ Clinical Interests Include:

* Meniscal and ligament injuries (ACL, PCL, MCL & PLC)
* Early osteoarthritis management
* Patellofemoral pain & instability
* Joint preservation procedures
* Cartilage restoration techniques
