Well that was well and truly needed.

When you stop and strip back to the simpler things In life you realise how important it is to do so.

Noticing the breath then doing some deeper breath work makes you realise how much time we spend on auto pilot not breathing properly causing stress and anxiety, living in fight and flight rather than rest and digest.
I always talk to my client about the importance of breathing properly and how it effects our thoughts and physical being but going deeper today really made me realise how powerful the breath can be.

To experience a sound bath in nature was just magical, I struggled to stay still for so long but feeling the fresh air on my face and the vibration was just amazing.

Cacao ceremony, fresh home made soup and great company Dawn Newton topped the day off perfectly.

Really looking forward to this today.

All therapists need to make sure they look after their own wellness, Mentally & Physically.

So today I’m taking a break to focus on me and leading by example of planning time into my schedule (something I talk to my clients about every day)
It doesn’t have to be a full day or a few hours even. Taking 5-10 minutes a day to focus on how you are feeling, slowing down and asking yourself what you need is very beneficial to your health.
It’s not selfish it’s necessary.

This is a slow and nourishing gathering from The Conscious Self, created to guide you back to what’s real: stillness, presence, the breath, and the medicine of the natural world. A space to soften the nervous system, quiet the mind, and return to the simple truth that you are part of nature, not separate from it. 🌿

We’ll begin with a heart opening cacao ceremony, then move into gentle practices to help you land in your body. Cacao is known for supporting mood, focus and connection, and for many people it helps you feel more open, grounded and present. 🍫💛

You’ll leave feeling lighter and clearer, with your body calmer, your breath deeper, and your mind less noisy. Expect nervous system reset vibes, nature connection, and that warm “I’m not alone in this” feeling that comes from being held in good community. 🍃🫁

This is so true!! The language we use really does matter.

A study found that the way you talk to yourself about aging changes how your body actually ages.

People with positive perceptions of aging lived an average of 7.5 years longer than those with negative perceptions.

That effect was larger than the effect of low blood pressure, low cholesterol, healthy weight, or not smoking.

Researchers at Yale analyzed data from 660 adults who had been asked decades earlier how they felt about statements like "As you get older, you are less useful." Those who rejected those statements, who viewed aging as a time of continued growth, lived significantly longer.

The effect held after controlling for age, gender, socioeconomic status, loneliness, and functional health.

7.5 years. From how you think about getting older.

Why? The researchers point to both behavioral and physiological pathways. People who view aging positively are more likely to engage in preventive health behaviors. They also show lower cortisol levels, lower inflammatory markers, and greater will to live when facing health challenges.

Your beliefs about aging become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you believe decline is inevitable, you stop trying. If you believe growth is possible, you keep showing up.

Every time you say "I'm too old for that," you are writing a prescription for your future. Be careful what you prescribe.

The words you use about your own aging are not just words. They are biology.

We can spend so much of our time making sure others are ok and their needs are met but what about YOU?

Making time for your wellness is so important it’s not selfish, everyone else is not more important.
