SEND Parent Carer Conference

Dear Parent / Teacher of the deaf / Paediatric Audiologist,

I am writing to request your participation in a research study about the support deaf children receive from the teacher of the deaf and paediatric audiology.

The main aim of this study is to find out:
1. What are the barriers deaf children and their families face when accessing support services (i.e. paediatric audiology and Teacher of the deaf)?
2. What action do services need to take to remove these barriers?

Who are we looking for:
i) Parent of a child who is deaf or has a hearing loss
· You are a parent of a child who is deaf or has a hearing loss - all levels/types of hearing loss included.
· Your child is aged 0-18 years old.
· You live in the UK.

ii) Teacher of the deaf
· You are currently working as a Teacher of the deaf in the UK.

iii) Paediatric Audiologist
· You are currently working as a Paediatric Audiologist in the NHS.

What will it involve:
· Completing a short online questionnaire. The questionnaire should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

This study has ethical approval from the University of Manchester Research Ethics Committee.

We are thrilled to share that we have secured National Lottery funding to support children and young people with SEND across the Tees Valley. 💛💙

This incredible support allows us to offer 60 minutes of access to our:
✨ Sensory Room
🤸 Gymnastics Facility
🏡 Role Play Village
for a reduced rate of just £3 per child.

👧👦 Who is it for?

These sessions are specifically funded for children with SEND. We kindly ask that families only book these places where this applies.

Siblings are welcome to attend for the same reduced rate, as we fully understand the needs of families attending together.

All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where we cancel a session. By booking, you agree to this policy.

🌟 Smaller Group Numbers
These sessions run with significantly reduced numbers to ensure a calm, supportive environment and access to the whole building.
