We are a volunteer organisation that provides accessible and safe boat trips on the River Tees between Stockton-on-Tees and Yarm for folk with any form of disability.

✨Funded Stay & Play✨

We are thrilled to announce funded SEND Play & Stay sessions for families with children with SEND.

Siblings are of course welcome!

These sessions will take place in our fully equipped gym in a supportive environment, with the opportunity for tea, coffee and a chat to help create a safe and welcoming community where families feel heard, understood, and comfortable.✨

The two summer sessions will act as a precursor to regular sessions starting in September.

Today something special happened.
Our little Cleveland Unit classmates graduated after two years 🥹 I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house! The progress they have made over the last two years is unbelievable. We are so proud of them, it has been a pleasure to be part of their journey and we wish them all the best for their next adventure 🩷👏🏽
Congratulations class of 2025, we will miss you.

🌟 Did you know Cheer Starz has its own SEND Provision?

Here at Cheer Starz, it’s important we support all children and young people in our communities, and we’re delighted to be offering camps especially for those children, young people, and families. Head over to Sensory Starz on Instagram for more updates over the coming weeks. 💛

We are thrilled to be delivering funded summer camps once again at Sensory Starz! This time, things are looking a little different — and even more exciting! 💫

We’re offering a carousel of carefully designed activities to support sensory regulation, engagement, and wellbeing:

🧠 Sensory Room – A fully equipped, purpose-built space offering calming lights, soothing sounds, tactile exploration, interactive projection, and movement-based equipment. Perfect for supporting self-regulation, emotional balance, and sensory integration.

🤸‍♀️ Gym Access – Explore our gymnastics and tumble area, including a full-length trampoline tumble track. This supports proprioceptive input, coordination, body awareness, and confidence in movement.

🌿 Outdoor Play – Space to take a breather, enjoy nature, and engage in outdoor sensory activities to support calmness, creativity, and connection.

📅 Open to children and young people aged 5–16 who are eligible for free school meals and/or have SEND needs.

This week’s is a small business based on the Isle of Wight. Jenna has decided to support us due to her niece Hannah, she says:

💛 Hannah has shed a lot of light for our family, and we realised that unless you have a direct connection with a child with DS then such an amazing charity flies completely under the radar. I have learnt that a lot of children with DS are peg fed but adaptive clothing is limited, expensive and let’s face it rather plain. I can now put zip inserts into clothing for £1 per item as an extra help to parents in need - meaning that money can be spent on the more meaningful things like days out with the family.

I chose DSUK as my charity of the year for my beautiful niece Hannah who was born with DS, this was a complete surprise to our family and has come with its own set of challenges such as having two chest surgeries by the age of 2, speech and language help and physical development. Hannah is a beautiful soul and without DSUK we as a family would not have had the knowledge, connections or support needed to get us and Hannah through some really difficult challenges. DSUK is a fantastic charity that not many know about - it’s time that changed! Therefore, for any sale of space themed items all money will go to PADS - no money will be taken for time or fabric costs."
